C'era una Volta — Restaurant in Rome

We had just arrived where we were staying nearby and very hungry. We asked Google where the nearest restsurant was and thankfully we were given this one. We were greeted very warmly and shown to a nice table. We ordered spaghetti carbonara and one of the calzones, the house red and a bottle of water. Our table was near the kitchen and we kept seeing beautiful dishes coming out that smelled even better than they looked. Our dinner came out in short order and WOW! Both dishes were absolutely scrumptious!! We ordered home made potato chips to take home as a snack for the kids who were about to arrive and they were fabulous as well. I cannot say enough good about this place or its people! Not a lot of English spoken, but more than enough for one to enjoy a fabulous meal served by wonderful people at a great price in nice surroundings. We will be eating here some more before we return to the Seattle area.

We returned to the restaurant with the family the night before we left for Seattle. All seven of us loved the food and service as well as the family ambiance.

If I ever return to Rome, you can bet I and whoever I'm with will visit this...

We stayed in the area, and found this restaurant a great spot for dinner close by. It was easy to get a table for four, service was prompt, and while we could handle the Italian menu, staff were always available for help in English too.

They had a lot of stuff made in house! For drinks we had Limoncello spritz (they make their own limoncello), also handmade pasta (I was a big fan of gnocchi with zucchini flowers, and ricotta ravioloni), and finally for dessert we tried the ricotta and sour cherry cake which was excellent, and a big slice too. Definitely recommended!

Oh also - for people who like their water cold, these guys actually brought us ice and lemon when requested - not that common as we found!...

C'era una volta....la volontà,forse Appena uscito dal locale il mio pensiero è: mai più. In due,ordiniamo nell'ordine: due calici di prosecco,un acqua naturale, un antipasto consistente in involtino di melanzane avvolto nella mozzarella fusa, un tonnarello al ragù ed una scamorza al tartufo.Dolce una fettina di crostata con ricotta e visciole.

Comincio col premettere che il sottoscritto non è abituato alla frequentazione di locali top od a 5 stelle, ma almeno l'onestà intellettuale di dire chiaramente sul menù quali prodotti sono freschi e quali no gioverebbe altresì anche ad altri. Detto ciò, sicuramente la nostra scelta personale di non gustare i decantati pezzi da novanta (è una pizzeria con forno a legna) sicuramente ci penalizzava un pochino, ma stasera è stato un fiasco su tutta la linea; l'opzione involtino di melanzane con mozzarella chiaramente precotto e surgelato andava anche bene, ma almeno nel riscaldarlo poteva essere lasciato quei dieci secondi in più in quanto veramente freddo all'interno (che poi, perché a questo punto non metterlo proprio vicino al suddetto fuoco, che in men che non si dica si sarebbe sciolto ed avrebbe anche insaporito il tutto col gusto fumè dando l'impressione ai poveri polli di un sapore decente?) Tonnarello al ragù da far rabbrividire un vero emiliano doc, al confronto la mensa della scuola elementare aveva più sapore (e sicuramente non costavano 12€). Scamorza talmente attaccata e squagliata dal calore (questa si) che sembrava come quando da piccoli ti attaccavano i chewing-gum sui capelli per dispetto, buonina ma "difficoltosa" da poter gradire, bastava veramente poco per poterla scaldare ed un altro piatto al posto della ciotola per poterla gustare. Bicchieri(ni) di prosecco: 8 euro per una lacrima di prosecco (non sto giocando) e che preso al discount vicino forse faceva anche più figura.Unica nota pseudo positiva: la crostata ricotta e visciole era buona

Il tutto per 50 euro che mi han fatto strabuzzare gli occhi non poco al momento del conto

Mi dispiace, ma la qualità e la serietà...
