Chopstick Cassia — Restaurant in Rome

My teenage son and his friend came here for dinner Saturday night. We live right across the street and are frequent visitors and have previously recommended to other embassy families. After ordering their food and receiving some of it my son and his friend were told the restaurant has a party arriving and they would need to finish and leave. They had only been in the restaurant around 30 minutes (I verified this as they had only left our house 40 minutes prior). They told them they weren’t finished ordering. They were asked two more times to leave because they needed their table and the boys had received more of their food at this point. My son was upset but being young he listened to the adult and got up to pay. They then informed them since they didn’t finish all their food they would have to pay extra! My son argued with them for 5 minutes to not pay this charge (he didn’t even bring extra money with him) and they finally removed it but made him pay full price for his meal. I believe they were taken advantage of due to their age. They knew they had a reservation coming in and gave them a table anyway for a quick €60. We will never return here and neither will my friends. He came home and ate a pizza because he was still hungry after “all you can eat” sushi.

In response to the owner on 4/8: No, they were not told they could only use the table for 45 minutes. If you know you have a reservation coming in for a table in 45 minutes then a table should not be offered to begin with. If you are an all you can eat restaurant then you should actually offer all you can eat. And the response about charging for food that was not eaten due to your restaurant’s incompetence and rudeness is disdainful. You took their table away before they received all the food they had ordered. Were they supposed to eat the food on the floor since their table was taken away? If you made a mistake by giving them a table when you had a reservation coming in, the correct thing to do would be to offer them to take their remaining food to go and offer compensation for their interrupted dining experience. You also could have offered to have them come back at your expense today if you were looking to do the right thing. Instead you make excuses for your uncaring and unprofessional staff and yourself as the owner. There is no way you would have treated adults in this manner. SEMPLICEMENTE ECCEZIONALE!

Non comprendo il perché di alcune recensioni negative, forse le persone si aspettano un menu alla carta al prezzo di un all you can eat, altrimenti non si spiega. Noi siamo abituali frequentatori di ristoranti giapponesi e con formula AYCE e sinceramente, questo ha di gran lunga superato le nostre aspettative. Probabilmente il miglior sushi che abbia mai mangiato in un ristorante All you can eat! Mai vista una tale varietà di piatti sapori, e fantasia nella presentazione I rolls sono fantastici finalmente con il giusto quantitativo di riso, che non "riempie e appesantisce", belli pieni di salmone freschissimo, decorati con fantasia, e dai sapori unici! Ho mangiato qui varietà di rolls mai provate prima d'ora, e che pensavo servissero solo nei menù alla carta! Il personale gentilissimo (una delle cameriere è stata di una gentilezza e disponibilità a dir poco introvabili nei comuni ristoranti) , e gli ordini arrivavano in tempi velocissimi. Il sashimi a dir poco squisito, viene servito in una bellisisma coppa con il ghiaccio che ne mantiene la freschezza, il taglio di quest ultimo, è bello consistente, e lascia un piacevole sapore di fresco in bocca. Le pietanze non sono mai cariche di riso, e risultano leggere e piacevoli. Che dire . Eravamo andati con poche aspettative, un po' perplessi dal prezzo leggermente più alto della media, ma ci ha stupito la qualità e gentilezza di questo luogo! Non ultimo hanno i tavoli all aperto, dove si può anche fumare. Per noi da ieri non esisterà altro giappo che loro! Mi sento di dire : provare per credere! Average sushi place. We had to FYI the servers twice they forgot part of our order. The final time we didn't even bother because it felt like they were annoyed we noticed. It was good food and good wine (great pour) though. Mostly the food came fast but dirty plates sat on our table for too long. We will likely eat here again because it was delicious food but it just wasn't the OMG experience you want (and pay for) from a restaurant. Bottom line, good food, fresh.
