I Fraschettari — Restaurant in Rome

Dinner tonight was a highly reviewed, out of the way local. On arrival quickly greeted and shown to our table and presented with menus, while very modern and sleek. Completely indecipherable in what the locals called itialian. Not being able to read these very familiar letters just in a incomprehensible order posed quite the challenge. Fear not; a young waiter appeared and revealed... he does speak our savage tongue. Perplexed at what to do, this young waiter quickly grasped our confusion and managed to recommend dishes he thought we would enjoy. Mixed grill and fries for me and the carbonara for the wife, he also recommend the bruschetta, sold! The mixed grill served on a hot plate, spectacular. Pork chop delicious, lamb chops lovely, steak nice, sausages surprisingly the star of the show. The wife enjoyed her carbonara. The bruschetta was not what i was expecting , a large fried dough ball covered with a tomato sauce and sprinkled with parmesan. A unique take and very tasty. Sono anni che frequento i ristoranti ma devo dire che quello che mi e capitato oggi in questo ristorante con questo signore nella foto (tanto per non fare nomi mettiamo una bella foto) non mi era mai capitato ne lo avrei immagginato potesse accadere, nemmeno nelle peggiori bettole delle peggiori borgate delle peggiori citta del mondo. In pratica, dopo aver atteso il ns turno educatamente, solo che lo abbiamo fatto all'interno del locale invece che farlo fuori come gli appestati, e aver chiesto.un tavolo per 4 il bel signore nella foto con fare saccente, presuntuoso e di una persona chiaramente malato cronico di delirio di onnipotenza ci ha detto che prima.....dovevamo uscire dal locale e poi potevamo chiedere il posto a sedere (nemmeno ce lo offrisse lui il pranzo) . Per non discutere ci rimettiamo sulla porta e richiediamo, sempre educatamente posto per 4 (locale vuoto per 3/4) ed il signore di prima ci risponde, con tono peggiore se mai possibile, per voi non c'è posto. A quel punto eravamo davabti ad un bivio, chiamare i carabinieri e capire se lui poteva rifiutarsi di servirci o, da persone civili ed abbastanza disinteressate, siamo andati a portare i ns soldi ad un altro ristorante. Ovviamente facendo attenzione a non andare all'Oysteria che è dello stesso personaggio di cui sopra. Cosa dire , se non che gli auguro il meglio per il suo ristorante ma non per lui che non si meriterebbe nemmeno un chiosco di grattachecche, ma peri suoi ragazzi che sono tutti amabili e cortesi. Purtroppo non posso dar -5 stelle (negative) quindi mi accontento...

Do you want to eat REAL italian food? Then you must try this place. It was a blast, really. We were so amazed by this restaurant. We were really dissapointed with the area, thinking that we wouldn't find anything worth for until we found this gem frecuented by italian people. The crostini with parma ham, the aubergine with gratined parmesan were just one of the many fantastic dishes. But if you want something really special, try the pannacota with fruti di bosco.
