I recently dined at Jing Du, located on Viale Beata Vergine del Carmelo, and I must say, it was an intriguing culinary adventure. Jing Du offers a diverse menu that goes beyond just Chinese cuisine. I was delighted to find Japanese, Thai, and Indonesian influences, providing a range of delectable options. The food we ordered left a positive impression. Some dishes, like the Riso Speciale, Gamberi in Salsa agrodolce, and Cocco Ripieno, were exceptionally flavorful and a true culinary delight. Not only did the food taste great, but it was also presented beautifully, making it even more appetizing.
While the food was a highlight, I must mention that the portion sizes were comparatively small. If you have a hearty appetite, you might consider ordering extra dishes. For a weekend visit, especially around 8 pm, I’d strongly recommend making a prior booking. The restaurant gets quite busy, and it’s advisable to secure your spot. Jing Du is a spacious and elegant place, capable of accommodating a significant number of guests (around 70-80 people). The ambiance is well-decorated, hygienic, and maintained impeccably. The staff, although friendly, may require some improvement in managing busy periods. We experienced a noticeable wait time for our food, but it’s understandable given the restaurant’s popularity. More efficient service during busy hours would enhance the overall experience.
Overall, I’d rate Jing Du at 4.1 stars out of 5. The culinary journey was exciting, but a few tweaks in portion sizes and service efficiency could make it an even more exceptional...
Read moreWe just happen to pass by at this restaurant. It was crowded and we like Chinese food so we decided to have our dinner there. We parked by the rood. It was around 9pm, they close at 12mn, I think. First, we were served with the Spring Rolls, then the glass noodles (called spagetti in their menu) and the Cantonese Fried Rice (Riso Cantonese). We were hungry so we ate without waiting for everything to be served. we almost finished the noodles and the rice but the calamari Fritos still wasn’t served. We followed up with the server and after sometime, we got the calamari which was not what we expected (see photos below). We usually eat the calamari with the noodles or the rice. Ended up eating it without those because it was served late. We didn’t make a fuss about it, the server was nice and we can see the stuff were hard at work. We saw people leaving their table to pay. We did the same. We weren’t shown of the bill ,was just told the total amount. Usually when eating a Chinese restaurant, we’d get a fortune cookie. We didn’t get any. We saw some customers had it. I guess, you have to request for it. 3 star is because the food tasted bland for us. But I guess the owners decided not to make it the usual flavorful Chinese food to cater to the taste...
Read moreThe best sushi! Huge pieces of fish inside! I'm so impressed with this restaurant. I'm new to Rome, and I have been trying different restaurants to find my favorite sushi. This is by far my favorite so far. Other restaurants only wrap a tiny piece of fish inside their sushi or on top of their nigiri. This place actually gives you your money's worth. It is not mostly rice. And it tastes so fresh. Really a great job. I also ordered from Just Eats and they were 10 minutes early. The tempura inside of my rainbow roll was still warm and tasted amazing. The other two rolls were just as fresh and amazing. I put half of it in the refrigerator for my husband to try when he got home. He agrees this is also his favorite sushi in...
