Pizzeria Il Campione Acilia — Restaurant in Rome

I'd really love to give more stars but I just got a quatro formaggi pizza without ANY tomato sauce on. Like NONE at all, not even a DROP? How do you not put any sauce on pizza? My dad brought it home, and I genuinely burst out in tears because of this. The service may have been good, the dough is good and the cheese isn't bad but everything without sauce? That's just bland. Was I supposed to ask for extra sauce what??? Like EVERYONE is used to there always being sauce on pizza, EVEN on quatro formaggi. Not to be rude but to be bluntly honest that ruined my evening, put out a sign or something to ask for extra sauce because that was such a horrible experience I was really excited about eating this Pizza this evening. Like I never EVER had an experience like this, especially with sauce???? Who doesn't put sauce? I'm confused and disappointed.

I hope this was really just someone having a bad day or forgetting but that really devestated me and I ask you please never to do that again, or at least warn the people or something that we have to ASK for extra sauce?? Not really...

Ieri sera ho finalmente avuto modo di provare Il Campione direttamente sul posto, dopo averlo sperimentato più volte con l’asporto. E devo dire che la pizza appena uscita dal forno è tutta un’altra storia: saporita, con ingredienti di qualità e un impasto davvero ben lavorato. Abbiamo optato per la pizza gigante da 28 euro e l’abbiamo trovata equilibrata e ben cotta.

Al tavolo c’è stato un po’ di dibattito sull’impasto: chi lo ha trovato eccellente, chi invece preferisce un’altra tipologia. Tuttavia, è innegabile la grande varietà di pizze tra cui scegliere, un vero punto di forza del locale. Anche gli antipasti sono stati all’altezza: i fritti sono risultati ben fatti e non unti, e il supplì gamberi e zucchine è stata una piacevole sorpresa.

Un plauso speciale ai dolci, che meritano davvero una menzione: abbiamo provato sia il “mangia e bevi”, sia una pizza dolce con Nutella, banana e panna. Entrambi ben presentati e più che appaganti per concludere la serata con una nota golosa.

Il locale è ampio e ben curato, e nonostante fosse un giovedì sera con buona affluenza, il personale si è dimostrato gentile e attento, senza mai far percepire fretta o pressione. Unica nota: l’ambiente è un po’ rumoroso, ma nulla di eccessivo per una pizzeria vivace e frequentata.

In sintesi: esperienza più che positiva, prezzi in linea con la qualità offerta e un menù che invoglia a tornare per provare nuove combinazioni. Magari non la pizza “migliore di Acilia”, ma sicuramente un posto da segnare tra le pizzerie da...
