Al Girarrosto — Restaurant in Salerno

It is a lovely restaurant and a sweet garden for seating outside. We were welcomed immediately even that they didn't speak any English they did their best to accommodate us. Unfortunately we had some complications ordering starters as we wanted 2 starts for us 4 but instead received each by that time I realised and apologised but thought to my self the waiters should have realised this was way too much food. Anyways the food was so lovely, simple and delicious. The kids loved the Gnocchi in tomato sauce and the pizza was great, they even had non gluten pizza for me! Kids really enjoyed the dessert as well. The restaurant prices were not expensive but due to our mistake it came to about €75 . Parking could be an issue but luckily we found parking just near. Arriving to Salerno a bit late for lunch and wanting a quick bite, we passed by Al Girarrosto. Inside, the lady was relatively uninterested in providing service but doing it anyway…Boh ok. We asked for an “arista di maiale” and some potatoes that were prepared and set near the fire inside the oven. Accordingly, you would guess the food is somehow warm. She served the food on a plate while taking a call for a reservation tonight, equally uninterested in servicing anyone. The food was cold to least describe it. Who would serve pork cold? Knowing that it is ribs meaning half is made of fat. Hungry us ate the meat around and the potatoes (heavily garnished with oils) and surely remembered the meal for a couple of hours … Not our favorite memory in Salerno...

Abbiamo pranzato "al girarrosto" con un ottimo pollo,morbido e gustoso e abbiamo assaggiato anche i contorni, tutto squisito.Devo ringraziare personalmente la ragazza che ci ha fatto accomodare e tutto lo staff di una gentilezza ormai rara. Tengo a precisare che siamo due adulti e tre bimbe piccole vivaci e,nonostante l'ora di punta e l'ambiente piccolino, ci hanno messo subito a nostro agio e hanno trovato una buona sistemazione per noi.Ci siamo sentiti come a casa.Grazie,siete perle rare.Famiglia...
