Pizzeria Number One — Restaurant in San Vito Lo Capo

Amazing pizza place managed by really gentle people, it's a family owned business. The pizza is really good and worth a stop on your way out of San Vito Lo Capo or if you're staying nearby. Prices are really accessible, we ordered the capricciosa and picante pizzas and half a litre of wine. Capricciosa is very well balanced with artichokes of outstanding quality. Picante looked like it had too much arugula but once I started eating it, it was clear it was the right amount to balance out the slaccicia and didn't feel that spicy. House wine is a star here, nero d' avola is always going to be a good table wine. We sat at the ramp, which wasn't a problem on its own, but the sound of the water pump and the lack of condensers to balance the energy consumption did make an impact in our experience, but the food made it worth it. I came here as a recommendation from my hotel (cala di ponente) who said this is the best place in Castelluzzo. I was a little bit too keen 😅an arrived too early but the owner was kind enough to let me sit in and wait till he was ready. I had spent the whole day at the beach and was so ready for this meal but nothing prepared me for how amazing it was! The dough of the pizza is incredible and like nothing I have ever tried: it’s fluffy, tasty and crispy outside. I am only small and I wish I could’ve been able to eat the whole pizza. Really good pizza and I know a thing or two about pizzas. To be precise I have devoted a significant part of my life to making and consuming pizzas. This one is probably amongst the best pizzas you can get in sicilia, if not the best. Staff was really nice throughout the visit even though we where accompanied by our kids aka every restaurants owners nightmare. Fries for the kids where served first at a perfect temperature.
