Ristorante Pizzeria l'Airone — Restaurant in Sanremo

Such a disappointment!!!

1, we couldn't find the seats in the terrace because available tables were either under the sun or next to the smokers.

2, Then we decided to sit inside, one waitress insisted to put us sitting among other customers while the other half of the restaurant was completely empty.

3, After we finally sat and wanted to just order a pizza then we were told the restaurant didn't make pizza on Sunday. We should had just left this restaurant after all then we wouldn't be even more disappointed by the food.

The pasta is really not good at all, big portion but completely tasteless, typical tourist drap!!!!

4, then came to pay with 27.50euro in total, but the woman at cashier put 72.50euro on the credit card machine!!! Lucky enough that I, as traveller, always check the amount on the machine before I tap my card. The woman apologized for the mistake after I complained. How convenient for her!!!!!

Enough said about this restaurant after all these...

It is very chaotic during the service. The personal is hardly speaking any other languages than Italian, be ready to get some surprises. Food quality is good, but the service needs much improvements. Portions are quite generous, you do not have to order many dishes to fill up your stomach. However they propose a doggy bag to take the rests of you for not finish everything. Do not order fritto-misto, it is just a portion of fried calmars with two little fishes, not the inverse, I guess they have problems to get enough little fishes in their stock. Came with a party of 6, including one person with a gluten intolerance and one person with a dairy intolerance AND nut allergy. The staff were friendly, accommodating and didn’t for a second make anything feel awkward or bothersome, also very patient and kind whilst I spoke in broken, flustered Italian. All the food was delicious, the portions were generous and they made sure it was all allergy free. They even offered gluten free pizza and pasta which isn’t always easy to come by in Italy! 100% recommend to anyone...
