Ristorante Pizzeria Mediterraneo — Restaurant in Sanremo

We had a fantastic dinner at Ristorante Pizzeria Mediterraneo during our stay in San Remo. The food was the absolute highlight of our visit. Our group ordered several different pizzas, and each one was genuinely recommendable. The dough was perfectly cooked—crisp yet chewy—and they were very generous with the toppings, using high-quality, flavourful ingredients. It felt like authentic Italian pizza at its best. Furthermore, the prices were very reasonable, offering excellent value for the quality and quantity of food we received.

When we arrived, we had hoped to sit outside to enjoy the evening air. Unfortunately, due to how busy the restaurant was, there wasn't an available table for our party of six. However, the staff's response was immediate and accommodating. They quickly arranged a solution for us inside, moving and joining tables to ensure we could all sit together comfortably. The service, for the most part, was very friendly and welcoming.

The only slight letdown was the waiter responsible for our drinks. He seemed quite disengaged and bored with his work. This was most evident in his repeated clumsiness when pouring water; he consistently spilled it on the tablecloth, soaking parts of it around our glasses. It was a small but noticeable detail. Despite this minor issue, our overall experience was overwhelmingly positive. The delicious food and the helpfulness of the other staff members made it a memorable meal. We would certainly return...

The first impression wasn't that bad. The waiter was energetic and friendly, but right after getting the menu he grabbed my mother's purse without asking and put it on the seat next to her. The intended gesture itself was nice, but the unsolicited way he did it was pretty uncomfortable. Moving to food, I took Margherita, my father chose a mix course of fish, and my mother took some dish with fishes. About the food taste, it was pretty average or even below average. The pizza, in my opinion, was made from the cheapest ingredients, and I still feel indigestion and acid reflux. The course with mixed fish, maybe it was a translation mistake, but it should be a mix of seafood because there was much more (squid, seals, and mussels) than only fish. My mother was pretty satisfied with her dish, which was mixed fried fish. The biggest thing that surprised me in a bad way was the service. While we started eating, four of the waiters were standing about 2 meters behind my mother. Two of them pulled out their phones and, with the sound on, started watching TikTok or Instagram reels. From my perspective as a tourist, it seemed really unprofessional or even childish. I don't know if that is normal in Italy, but in my country, they would get yelled at. To clarify, I don't have a problem with a person taking a break, but don't take your break right next to the ONLY table...

Semaine dernière nous cherchions un restaurant à San Remo et avons demandé à un commerçant auprès de qui nous avions fait des achats une adresse. Sur ses recommandations nous nous sommes rendus au "Mediterraneo" Via Gioberti. Tout aurait dû bien se passer.....Malheureusement nous avons été déçus. Si l'accueil a été de prime abord aimable, nous nous sommes vite aperçu que le but était de rentabiliser le plus possible le repas des convives. Tout d'abord, un Monsieur qui est sans doute le patron est venu nous proposer sa liste d'apéritifs, sans aucun doute (de sa part) que nous en prendrions un vu le ton de la conversation. Malheureusement pour lui, nous avons pris une grande eau gazeuse car nous ne buvons pas d'alcool. Là, entre en scène un jeune garçon dont apparemment le seul travail confié est de faire finir le plus rapidement les bouteilles des convives et vous en proposer une autre. Impossible de toucher à son verre sans qu'il vienne immédiatement le remplir et vous proposer une autre bouteille.....très agaçant ! Là arrivent les plats. Bons et bien présentés, il faut le reconnaître. Pizza pour mon épouse et morue à la Ligure pour moi. Arrive le moment où le patron vient nous proposer un dessert que nous avons refusé. D'une part parce que nous avions suffisamment mangé, d'autre part parce que le manège du jeune désigné pour nous faire finir notre bouteille dans un temps record nous avait mis en de mauvaises dispositions. Et maintenant, cerise sur le gateau : au moment de l'addition le patron nous annonce que le système CB est en panne et que nous devons payer en espèces. Il n'hésite pas à nous faire un énorme mensonge en nous affirmant que tout le réseau CB est en panne sur San Remo (alors que nous avions fait une dizaine d'achats dans les boutiques tout autour du restaurant sans aucun problème). Nous nous sommes donc acquittés de l'addition avec les quelques euros qui nous restaient et nous sommes promis de prévenir les touristes des pratiques de ce commerçant. En sortant nous en avons discuté avec un autre couple de Français qui ont eu droit au même régime dans cet établissement. Malheureusement leur conclusion a été résignée "de toutes façons, on sait ce que c'est l'Italie !". Eh bien non ! L'Italie ce n'est pas ça ! Les Italiens sont des gens conviviaux et accueillants ! Je suis moi-même d'origine Italienne et cela me fait mal d'entendre de telles conclusions à cause de pratiques commerciales mesquines et isolées. Je recommande donc d'éviter ce restaurant ou d'y aller avec la plus grande prudence en étant attentif aux...
