The food is not bad. But having ordered tamahawk 45 euros per kg, ravioli 15 euros, wine 6 euros per liter... they brought us a plate of sausages and cheeses, pasta with tomatoes as a compliment, and then they asked for double the price... It's a terrible place, they put the unfinished wine in the refrigerator, the bread is dry . Extra water was added to the bill. Two desserts for 12 euros. The "Trattoria N'Da Calata" is an old traditional restaurant located on the gentle panoramic slope in the Etna Park. It is also by far the best place for families and friends to spend a nice and quiet evening eating delicious local food. I had the opportunity to go there to celebrate my birthday and I had a wonderful time. The restaurant has a parking space and as you enter the place you are welcomed by a familiar and cosy atmosphere. In the summer they have a wonderful terrace where you can have your meal. There is some soft background music. Regarding the food, they offer a variety of local food and delicacies, they also have desserts in the menú. Slightly disappointing though, was the lighting system, too bright to me. The service is fast, accurate and friendly. I have no hesitation in recommending going to this restaurant. Locale non adatto alle famiglie con bambini. Eravamo andati in questo locale ispirati dalle recensioni positive sul cibo, tralasciando purtroppo le numerose altre recensioni che già segnalavano una certa avversione per le famiglie con bambini. Già al nostro arrivo, mentre cerchiamo di prendere posto e di mettere d’accordo i bambini sul dove vogliano sedersi, ci accorgiamo di essere guardati con disappunto da un soggetto seduto all’ingresso, probabilmente il titolare. Subito dopo, ancora non ci siamo neanche seduti, un bambino viene rimproverato da un addetto ai tavoli solo perché stava spostando una sedia. Consideriamo, tuttavia, tale rimprovero come una simpatica accoglienza, anche per non far spaventare il bambino e ci accomodiamo. Una volta seduti notiamo dei cartelli sui muri che fanno riferimento all’educazione che i genitori dovrebbero impartire ai figli, o comunque frasi del genere e già l’ambiente non sembra più così accogliente come volevamo far finta che fosse, ma comunque ognuno in casa propria è libero di stabilire regole e affiggere ai muri quello che gli pare…sempre nel rispetto del cliente, perché comunque non si tratta di un’abitazione privata ma di una attività commerciale aperta al pubblico. La sala dove ci hanno fatto accomodare era semivuota, oltre la nostra tavolata c’era solo un tavolo con una coppia, nonostante fosse sabato, comunque, non appena tre bambini si alzano, in prossimità del nostro tavolo, prontamente vengono rimproverati da un addetto ai tavoli, perché disturbavano, non si sa chi disturbassero, vista la sala semivuota, forse disturbavano lo stesso soggetto seduto all’ingresso già infastidito fin dal nostro arrivo. Comunque richiamiamo i bambini al tavolo e tutti i bambini rimangono seduti per tutta la serata come se fossero in punizione, al solo fine di non far degenerare una cena che era iniziata col solo intento di trascorrere una serata spensierata tra amici. Purtroppo, però, a fine serata due o tre bambini non ce l’hanno fatta più a stare seduti e si sono alzati, sempre in prossimità del nostro tavolo e sempre senza disturbare nessuno. A quel punto, sempre lo stesso soggetto seduto all’ingresso, forse il proprietario, con uno scatto furioso si dirige verso i bambini, non si capisce bene cosa volesse fare, rimproverandoli e provocando la reazione oltremodo composta ed educata dei genitori e del gruppo, che, ancora una volta, al fine di evitare qualsiasi contestazione, decide di pagare il conto e di andarsene, per non tornare mai più. Storia da incubo, ma purtroppo vera che trova riscontro in diverse altre recensioni, alle quali il titolare risponde sempre in modo univoco e ossessionante che la colpa è dei genitori che non sanno impartire l’educazione ai figli.
