I can't stand it when the waiters aren't wearing white. If you wait tables, you must wear a white shirt.
Aside from that, they are somewhat rude, but I guess this is a common trait among people in the Liguria region.
Another negative point is the house wine. I dislike this sort of scam where they sell bottled house wine in 33cl bottles; that is a contradiction. House wine shouldn't be bottled. I assume they do this to squeeze every Euro possible out of you. The price is 5€ for the small bottle, meaning 15€ per liter, I find this unacceptable.
This place is renowned for a local delicacy called "farinata," a type of pie made with chickpeas and baked in the oven. It's delicious and worth a try. I also ordered "vitello tonnato", a unique Italian roastbeef dish with a creamy sauce, but it was less than average—probably a leftover, something that nobody would order at this place.
Overall, try this place if you want to experience local food. They have an extensive menu, not only farinata. Service and attitude...

They can serve you plain, or topped with different things, from onion to gorgonzola. Choice is limited, and I'd say it's good because otherwise there would be a need of some assist to get out from the place since the portion are very generous.
The best part are the roasted peppers, cooked in the oven and done at the moment.

Read moreThe best days of the famous Vino e Farinata are behind them. I had to book a table by phone in advance and was told that my slot is from 7 pm to 8:15 pm precisely. But when I arrived there at 7, they were not ready for guests. Once they let me in, they gave me a table closest to the kitchen and the passage, and I was not allowed to choose a different one (being the first guest with an empty restaurant). It did not smell like food inside, only like chlorine and fried staff. The paper menu was on the wall next to the table and impossible to read. When I tried to take it to see closer, the waitress screamed that I was not allowed to touch it. At which point, I...
