Ristorante La Playa Pizza e Pesce — Restaurant in Scalea

The food and the staff were very nice but the prices were far too high. They are a lot higher than stated on Google. €18-20 for primi and €20+ for secondi. It's far too high for a small local restaurant here. The prices actually make it probably the most expensive restaurant in Scalea even though it looks like it hasn't had any renovations since the 1980s. We were regulars at La Playa under the previous owner. It feels like the new owners are trying to extract the maximum from customers in their 1st visit rather than trying to attract regular customers. It is very short-sighted as once we saw the prices on the menu, we decided not to order secondi and I can't see us returning either.

I’ve been coming to La Playa for years, and while the pizza is still not bad, things have definitely changed. Under the previous owner, there was a real family atmosphere — now it feels more like a tourist business trying to make quick money.

One thing that’s hard to ignore is how much the prices have gone up. The menu used to be affordable, but now it’s noticeably more expensive.

Maybe I was just unlucky, but the waiter took advantage of my poor Italian and pushed me to order a dish that sounded similar to what I wanted, but cost 11 euros more. Again, maybe it’s just bad luck, but it left a bad taste.

Summary: Pizza is okay, but overall the place has lost its charm.

Хожу в La Playa уже много лет, и хотя пицца по-прежнему неплохая, в ресторане многое изменилось. При прежнем владельце была настоящая семейная атмосфера, а сейчас это просто бизнес, который зарабатывает на туристах.

Особенно заметно, как сильно выросли цены. Раньше меню было доступным, теперь всё стало ощутимо дороже.

Может, мне просто не повезло, но официант воспользовался тем, что я плохо говорю по-итальянски, и уговорил меня взять блюдо, которое звучало похоже на то, что я хотел, но стоило на 11 евро дороже. Может, это просто случайность, но осадок остался.

Вывод: Пицца нормальная, но в целом ресторан потерял своё очарование.

Vengo a La Playa da tanti anni e, anche se la pizza non è male, le cose sono cambiate. Con il vecchio proprietario c’era un’atmosfera familiare, ora sembra solo un’attività per fare soldi sui turisti.

Un aspetto che non si può ignorare è l’aumento notevole dei prezzi. Prima il menù era più accessibile, ora è diventato chiaramente più caro.

Forse sono stato solo sfortunato, ma il cameriere ha approfittato del mio scarso italiano e mi ha convinto a ordinare un piatto che suonava simile a quello che volevo, ma costava 11 euro in più. Magari è stato solo un caso, ma mi ha lasciato un brutto ricordo.

Conclusione: La pizza va bene, ma il locale ha perso il...

Eravamo stati qui dal signor Franco due anni fa, oggi abbiamo fatto tappa di riposto a scalea per gustarci una cena come si deve, invece con la perdita del signor Franco si è perso anche quel piatto di linguine allo scoglio... Una delusione! Siamo arrivati personale gentile e cortesea abbastanza invadente per i nostri gusti, il signore che gestisce la sala grida un po' troppo, per farsi il bello ha fatto due battute di cattivissimo gusto, una sul bere e una sul primo, forse sarebbeeglio che si moderi al, non tutti gradiscono le sue battute, l'antipasto era veramente buono nulla da ridire, i due primi uno allo scoglio e uno alle vongole erano veramente penosi, linguine allo scoglio molto salate, piene di olio e un piatto da circa 250/300 grammi, ad un certo punto le ho lasciate ma non per la quantità ma per la qualità, scarsa direi, la mia fidanzata con le linguine alle vongole le ha lasciate altrettante, sembrava pasta bianca co le vongole, sempre porzione da 250/300 grammi, dopo due minuti sono diventate una poltiglia asciutta... A volte la quantità non paga, meglio la qualità che qui non c'era, i prezzi li abbiamo trovati molto aumentati. In conclusione ci dispiace per la perdita del signor Franco, lo ricorderemo sempre assieme a quei magnifici piatti che ci ha fatto gustare, ma non ci ritorneremo più......
