TL;DR (short version) Amazing and comforting home-style food with professional staff.

From my understanding it is a family restaurant with "Mama" as the chef. Atmosphere and service were kind, attentive and professional. From the Menu I tasted 2 main dishes and both were extraordinary. Braised wild boar stew (Cinghiale - locally popular) It wasn't too fatty, yet very rich and comforting. The background tastes of (I think locally grown) vegetables elevated this dish to perfection.

Pork pairs well with dried fruits but not many chefs can execute the correct balance between sweet and umami. But here they(Mama) succeeded.

I could taste the experiences and tradition in the dishes, and feel that the chef's style/profile is well formed and crystalized. At least for my taste buds ;) Wish only the best and looking forward to...

The restaurant served traditional and local Italian food. Nowhere near American food as mentioned on Google. The Service was amazing, such a friendly man. If seven stars would be available they would get it from me. The man spoke IT/ EN/ DE and taking a lot of time explaining about local wines. The food was a small gamble, since we didn't know meals. Il locale, che si trova nel centro di Scarlino,è veramente carino e caratteristico con pareti in mattoni e soffitti a volta che fanno si che vengano mantenute le caratteristiche originali. Ci siamo andati io e mio marito a cena ed è stata una bella sorpresa per il locale appunto e per come abbiamo mangiato. Siamo stati benissimo. Abbiamo preso un antipasto di crostini tutti e due. Poi io ho preso una zuppa di verdure e cereali con crostini di pane tostati e mio marito degli strozzapreti con ragù fatto con chianina,maiale e salsiccia. Per secondo abbiamo optato per il capocollo,cioè una scaturita di maiale fatta a pezzetti in agrodolce con contorno di fagioli. Tutto davvero buonissimo. E per finire una mousse di ricotta con miele e marron glacé . Mi dispiace di non aver fatto le foto dei piatti perché sicuramente avrebbero ancora meglio fatto capire quello abbiamo mangiato . Il rapporto qualità prezzo è eccezionale. Senza contare che il gestore è stato veramente gentile e molto professionale sia per quello che riguarda la scelta dei vini sia per la spiegazione dei piatti del menù. Ci torneremo sicuramente. A chi passa da Scarlino o nelle vicinanze non vi fate scappare una bella cena dell'Enoteca Osteria. Non ve...
