Retrò — Restaurant in Scicli

Unfortunately we had a very poor experience at this restaurant. We liked the look of the place and the menu so we reserved a table for 6 adults and a 12 year old. When we arrived around 8pm it was very busy and they had put extra tables in the street. We gave our order to two waiters (at the same time) ... there were clarifications as you would expect. Then our main course arrived ahead of our starter so we sent it back and a different waiter came out and said they had lost our order, but 30 seconds later one of our starters arrived. Our other starters came about 10min later after some more prompting. When our mains eventually came out they were the same dishes that were presented an hour earlier only reheated. The toppings on some of the pizzas was sparce. When the bill came it was wrong and when went to pay there was some problem with splitting the bill. We all felt that there was no coordination between the staff and they were very inexperienced. The food was ok but...

The pizzas were nice. However, we were alone on the very large terrace (of 30+ tables) and what did they do when another couple arrived? They sat them in the table directly next to us. Same for the next couple that arrived.

Seriously, in the middle of a pandemic with numbers of infections rising across Europe, you would think to use the very large amount of space you have (I repeat, more than 30 tables!!) to separate people, instead of sticking them all next to each other for no reason whatsoever. This defies logic. We ate what we had already ordered and left: if it wasn't for this, we would have stayed longer and ordered more.

No wonder the Coronavirus is spreading, with unnecessary behaviour like this... If you have space on your terrace, then for goodness...

Per cominciare non hanno chiesto il green pass a nessuno e già questo è da denuncia, servizio ai tavoli scarso, anzi zero, piatti miseri, mezze porzioni cucinati male e si paga tantissimo per ciò che ti danno. Ma entriamo nel dettaglio: le cameriere quando portavano i piatti ce li davano in mano e al momento di sparecchiare ci chiedevo a noi di dargli il piatto vuoto, (altro che servire da destra e sparecchiare da sinistra) inaccettabile dove ti fanno pagare caro. Ho chiesto svariate volte a chi ha preso l'ordine, di portare tutto senza prezzemolo, invece i primi sono arrivati con il prezzemolo, ho chiesto se nei tagliolini alle vongole si potesse aggiungere del pomodoro ciliegino fresco, invece ci hanno messo pomodoro grande tagliato a pezzetti e aggiunto crudo alla pasta, senza neanche cucinarlo insieme alle vongole e comunque, porzioni scarsissime, sembravano mezze porzioni. L'alalunga era cruda, il pesce spada anche, la frittura mista, con solo 3 pezzetti di calamari e poi paranza da 2 soldi e sto fritto misto se lo fanno pagare caro. Poi le attese, ho aspettato più di un'ora tra una portata e l'altra. In definitiva: 4 antipasti porzioni misere, 2 primi, da mezze porzioni, 4 secondi porzioni scarse, crudi e senza sale, che poi abbiamo dato al nostro cane che era li con noi, per la vergognosa cifra di 214,00€ vergognoso. Mi sono lamentato con il titolare per tutti gli errori e si è scusato, poi invece è venuta al tavolo una signora, che non ho capito se era la moglie del titolare, la cuoca o altro, che invece voleva conto e ragione, mi ha detto che è il 15 agosto e l'errore ci sta, a prescindere che gli errori sono stati tanti e gravi e comunque non posso accettare tutto ciò da chi ti fa pagare carissimo, perché se mi fai pagare caro allora pretendo il massimo, da chi ha prezzi modici, magari a l'errore ci si passa sopra. Io ci sono stato ieri sera insieme alla mia famiglia per la prima volta perché ho visto recensioni positive e negative, ma a ragion veduta, credo che le recensioni negative siano quelle vere e invece quelle positive sono false, finte, fatte magari da amici e parenti, o da qualcuno a cui magari hanno offerto una pizza in cambio di una recensione positiva.
