Ristorante Bracconiere — Restaurant in Serrara Fontana

The restaurant is very nicely decorated and we loved our pasta alla Genovese. Delicious.

However, the biggest issue we had was that we clearly ordered one plate (smoked scamorza with porchetta) and we got another dish (smoked scamorza with rocket and tomatoes... Essentially a salad). When we inquired about this we were told they ran out of porchetta. I would have expected them to tell me this rather than bringing me a different dish I didn't order. It felt as if the waiter was telling us off for bringing this up.

This was disappointing for several reasons:

1. I didn't get a main but a salad.
2. the plate I actually got was listed in the meat section. Where is the meat?
3. I ONLY paid 2 euros less for my wrong dish and instead of porchetta with an elaborated preparation I got a salad.

For a restaurant this well regarded this felt off....

I’ve visited ischia two times now and first time at ristorante Bracconiere. When we arrived there was a beautiful sunset and a nice moment to take pictures. The location is very special because of its position on the mountain and the interior of the restaurant makes you feel cozy and comfortable. The service was also great, it was busy but the waiters were very friendly and super helpful. Then the food of course was delicious, even the simple dishes are made to be very tasteful, you can tell that most things are locally sourced and made with years of love and experience. The hidden gem of Ischia!!

Leonardo and the team made this an unforgettable experience for us. We arrived without a reservation (silly mistake) to a fully booked restaurant- but the team kindly managed to set up a table especially for us next to the kitchen.

Leonardo came out several times before and during the serving to talk us through the dishes and the history of the place.

We ordered a plate of cheese and cold cuts to start with, followed by their famous rabbit sauce pasta and wild boar pasta before finishing with the special Ischia rabbit dish.
