Miho Japanese Restaurant — Restaurant in Sesto Fiorentino

The restaurant is packed but the receptionist (speak very well mandarin with me as I can't communicate in Italian) is kind enough to arrange a table for us even though we walked in without any reservation. Was initially informed that we have until certain time to dine and need to leave if there were more people. However the receptionist/cashier told me that since there were other empty tables, hence she didn't request us to leave and allow us to dine longer than the agreed time.

The food ordering through phone is easy and food is served very fast despite of the busy kitchen. The food is fresh and delicious. The all you can eat is really value for money and a must visit restaurant if ever in that area. Will definitely drop by again in future if I am...

I thought this was quite bad, and "Japanese Restaurant" should be in quotes. The sushi were tiny and sticky, the soy sauce diluted, the wasabi extremely weak (I used all of it and could barely taste it), and the ginger was dry. Then the service simply forgot several items, and when the seaweed salad arrived, it had a strange and bitter taste that I couldn't eat. Then there's no way to find out that it's possible to buy individual dishes, so we had one child that wasn't hungry but who got a tiny noodle dish out of obligation, which they wanted 30 euros for. I can't understand the average review score for this restaurant. I give it two stars only because the teriyaki chicken was quite tasty. Everything else I was served was from bad...

E fu vero amore! Per me è stato un colpo di fulmine, devo dirlo. Orfano del "Kome", VERO ristorante giapponese di Via De' Benci, ahimé chiuso per l'indolenza delle proprietarie (diciamolo!), dove era piacevole andare per rilassarsi e gustare un ottimo vero sushi preparato da chef giapponesi, ho scoperto Miho vero finto giappo-cinese, ma apparentemente con una marcia in più rispetto a tutti agli altri, ce n'è duemila... son tutti uguali. Qui l'ambiente obiettivamente è davvero bello, ben arredato in stile moderno, molto ridondante, leggermente kitsch.

Dopo qualche mese di frequentazione, ci sono già stato tante e tante volte, devo onestamente modificare il mio giudizio che era un po' troppo severo, non se lo meritano. Ci saranno circa 250 posti seduti (troppi) con bei tavoli grandi e sedute comodissime, ma c'è un po' di kaos sia per gli avventori, chiassosi e maleducati, sia per l'intensa attività di almeno 20 fra camerieri e inservienti, che non ti fanno attendere il piatto, ma si perde quella tranquillità che in un ristorante giapponese si cerca e si dovrebbe trovare. Questo è davvero un peccato.

Il servizio è rapido, anche se il piatto ti viene portato senza presentazione, velocemente, molti dei camerieri non parlano l'italiano, è come una catena di montaggio: impersonale. Ma ci ho mangiato molto bene fin dall'inizio, la qualità è buona, stanno mantenendo egregiamente il loro standard qualitativo che è superiore alla media degli altri ristoranti simili. Ci sono alcuni piatti, tipo gli hossomaki fritti, le tempure, che non arrivano caldissimi, quindi perdono un po' della loro fragranza, ma un ristorante così grande (davvero grande) non può essere perfetto. Se consiglio Miho? Dico si, certamente, perché è un bel ristorante, il servizio funziona, i ristoratori sono molto, molto gentili e disponibili, il cibo è buono, ci puoi stare anche se sei (così) esigente come me. E fu davvero vero amore! Io ci torno periodicamente, mi piace. Almeno per ora...
