I Due Forni Pizzeria — Restaurant in Sestri Levante

UPDATE 1.10.22; something has changed..... this little restaurant use to be one of the best pizza places in Sestri, how ever something has changed since my last visit three years ago.

First off service, we were shown to our table (from a distance) and then forgotten for the first 10 mins, we had to ask to obtain the menu. this would not have been a problem if the waiter was busy running around filling orders but he was happily chatting with the pizzaiolo instead.

we ordered grilled vegetables and when they arrived we were warned the plate was hot....but the tomatoes at their core was ice cold, this tells me the vegetables were heated in the microwave. which is a shame because the vegetables themselves were of good quality.

as for the pizzas they arrived very hot so that's a good thing, however they now come with a 3-4cm thick and 2-3cm wide crust parts of which were not cooked properly. furthermore the center of my pizza (ham and mushrooms) was sogging with water. again a shame because the ingredients used were not of bad quality.

lastly a couple details....the plate with the grilled vegetables left a big black ring of soot on the white table cloth, when I asked the waiter if she could pack the remaining pizza to go she came back with a box and just dropped it on the table so I had to do it myself...clearly this isn't the end of the world but its the "little things" you know?

I hope these issue are caused by the fact that its now "low season" but I fear something has changed in how the restaurant is run, sadly I wont be going back for a while.

I visited the pizzeria with my parents, because we were on holiday. We went in and got seated immediately. The service was great and had no complains about it.
