Osteria Da Nea — Restaurant in Silea

We were a bit concerned about many not "happy" comments, but we decided to give it a try as the place seems to be really popular! We booked in advance a table in a "restaurant" part for dinner and we didn't regret at all! Yes, it's pretty well-known spot, especially among young people, many groups come in the evening to have aperitif or to dine, so the waiters were quite busy, however also attentive and kind. We didn't wait for a long time, but reasonably and the dishes were brought right in time. The portions are not that big, however for the price/quality combination is fair, the food is very tasty and made of fresh ingredients. I can see why a lot of Brits like the place, it is indeed a sweet spot for dining or snacking al fresco with traditionally local grub. Undoubtedly, the location is a unique selling point, whether you are a tourist or someone stopping by after coming through all the way on a jog or a bike ride along the Sile river. I would agree the snacks are well made, especially the 'calamaretti' and 'panzerotti' with mozzarella and tomato. The recent Covid and economic crisis has pushed the cost of supplies up, which might explain why some punters don't see it as great VFM. I visited Osteria da Nea in August (2016) when I spent two nights at Treviso waiting for my bus to Hungary. My local host took me to this wonderful place and he ordered mixed fried fish and seafood (fritto misto de mare) and home made white wine. It was one of the most delicious food I've had in a long time and the wine was also quite tasty. The atmosphere of the place was so vibrant. Many people talking, laughing, so happy and alive.
