From the moment we arrived at Vicolo Urbani, we were greeted with a warm welcome that instantly made us feel at home. Nestled in a quaint little street, the outdoor seating added a touch of romance and intimacy to the evening—perfect for soaking in the charm of Sirolo.
The service was exceptional: genuinely friendly, attentive without being intrusive, and full of good energy. You could feel the passion behind every recommendation and gesture.
🍽️ Starter We began with a shared plate of Tortelli—delicate, flavorful, and meant to be enjoyed whole, no cutting required. Each bite was a burst of deliciousness 😋, setting the tone for what was to come.
🥩 Main Course Next came the filetto di manzo with patates. The beef was beautifully tender, and the roasted exterior added a rich, savory depth that made it truly memorable. The potatoes were the perfect companion—crispy, golden, and comforting.
🍨 Dessert To finish, we indulged in the voglia di Nocciola—a stunning dessert that felt like a celebration of hazelnuts. It was a creative blend of textures and flavors: creamy ice cream, nutty crumble, and a cake-style base that tied it all together. A sweet finale that left us smiling.
✨ Final Thoughts Vicolo Urbani isn’t just a restaurant—it’s an experience. Between the cozy atmosphere, the heartfelt service, and the beautifully prepared dishes, it’s a place that lingers in your memory long after the last bite. nb Our dog Toffee loved it and wants to return...
Read moreAfter so many 5 star reviews, I think the restaurant needs a reality check. we took the tasting menu 50eu pp - tiny portions. Bread was an absolute shame, worst one we’ve encountered in Italy: certainly prebaked, bought in from Lidl (or similar). amusebouche Fried Squid: dry, lukewarm, certainly fried long before service, mayonnaise was nice. Antipasti: Tripe of monkfish in sugo, lukewarm - i liked the texture. Primipiatti 5 pieces of filled pasta with codfish filling and caramelized onion sauce - tasted like factorymade, dont think it was fresh pasta. Secondi: 3 small pieces of fried monkfish with lime mayo: mayo was ok, fish unremarkable- at least it was fried to order. We were still hungry at this point, and ordered the Amberjack maincourse to share: served with potato duaphinoise and beurreblanc cream, greenbeans. Fish was ok, could use a crispy skin. Potatoes scalding in the middle, certainly microwaved. Greenbeans were rather gray, overcooked. Then came a plate of stale cookies as dessert, unedible. Upon our remark, we were brought a warm apricot cake with saffron icecream; tasty, best course of the meal. 4 glasses of “ok” wine. Water glasses smelled of “egg”, sign of inattentive dishwashing. 150eu total, IMO way overpriced. The restaurant has a young staff, nice atmosphere and good potential- hope they fix the food: as it is, i would call it a tourist trap. We had high expectations for this price....
Read moreWe’ve eaten here before and both the food and service have been excellent- However/ having spent today hoping for a message from the restaurant apologizing for the way we were treated last night - and having none forthcoming I felt it only fair to write a cautionary note to fellow diners about the reservation process. Weeks ago we booked an inside table for a reservation - as we were told point blank no terrace tables were available. No problem - though I did ask that if one became available to let us know. The weather was cold last night - and we arrived to be told we would be seated outside- however we’d had no notice of this and our lady guest had no coat or sweater - so we said no - And asked why - as we’d had multiple messages to reconfirm - that we could not have been messaged to ask if this change was acceptable. Obviously they had moved another diner inside that evening as the restaurant had been sold out for weeks. The host confirmed all I have written above and told us we could wait outside for 45 minutes if we wanted a table inside?? Which is really unprofessional- and no way to treat a guest. It would have taken a few seconds to message us - to advise they’d changed our reservation- we’d have dressed accordingly and not ended up trying to find an alternative at 20.30. Which thankfully we did - and it...
