Corte Visconti — Restaurant in Somma Lombardo

We came here as a large group of people for a work event, so this was my personal experience. The first impression was very good as the restaurant is situated in a secluded location and the interior is quite unique. However, as the night progressed the little things started to accumulate adding up to a negative experience overall. First, we were placed in a room which although looked nice, was so moldy you could smell it in the air the whole night. Then when our starters started to arrive, I have to say it was nothing spectacular and quite disappointing given it is VERY expensive. I personally found that out of 5 things that I tried, only 1 was very good, the rest was ordinary. Then, we were waiting for the waiters to come check on us to order seconds, but we were completely forgotten. Finally, one of the waiters came to see us to ask if we wanted anything else, so when we said we were ready to order seconds, they said that the chef was about to leave already. I have to say they did make an exception and prepared seconds after all, but it took soooo long to get through the whole food experience that we were not feeling it anymore at that point. Finally, cherry on top, I woke up the next morning with severe food poisoning for the first time in ages! I suspect it was the soup as it had fish which no one else from the group ate. It was a terrible morning experience so unfortunately, I would not recommend...

La peggior esperienza culinaria della mia vita!!! Premetto che non ho mai scritto una brutta review, perché, in quanto chef, capisco il duro lavoro che c’è dietro e comprendo anche lo sforzo ed i sacrifici che questo lavoro comporta, e non ritengo corretto l’uso delle review come mezzo di comunicazione tra il cliente ed il ristoratore, in caso di lamentele. La location è veramente calda ed accogliente, con una selezione di vini che non dispiace, con bottiglie a prezzi abbordabili e con etichette più blasonate che ne arricchisce il valore della carta dei vini stessa. Il menù sembra ben strutturato, con poche materie prime principali che a primo sguardo denoterebbero un alto indice di freschezza! Ordino con chiarezza e subito delle capesante scottate ed una terrina di baccalà come antipasto e spaghettini al nero con gamberi e calamari fritti, e delle mezzelune di zucca con pesto di mandorle e trota fume’. Ci viene servito un mise en bouche dì vellutata di zucca con amaretti e crescenza davvero buona. Il resto è da far venire i brividi!!!! Appena la cameriera appoggia il piatto dell’antipasto al tavolo veniamo avvolti da un odore sgradevole di pesce, che subito riconosciamo provenire dalle capesante, oltretutto tagliate sottili, quasi 3/4 millimetri e non servite intere!!!! Il baccalà di qualità Rafols venduto da Selecta food S.p.A, congelato dopo la dissalatura e non menzionato nel menù come tale!!!( la legge italiana impone un asterisco con la dicitura nel menù se si utilizzano prodotti congelati!!!) non esistente in questo menù!!!!! Decidiamo di non rovinarci il palato e lo stomaco e passare ai primi piatti ordinati. Gli spaghettini neri erano composti da gamberi e calamari anche loro decongelati!!! Per non parlare delle mezzelune di zucca in cui il ripieno era veramente vecchio e con un gusto tendente all’acido!!! Dopo aver lasciato interamente tutte e quattro le portate ordinate , finalmente il cameriere capisce che qualcosa non va!!! Naturalmente al mio dissenso sulla freschezza del pesce lui risponde che ciò non era possibile!! Mi faccio portare il conto senza aggiungere altro alla mia cena e mi trovo uno scontrino in pieno di €100 per del cibo che non ho neanche toccato, ed un aggiunta di €3 per l’acqua che non ho mai ordinato!!! Vado a pagare e finalmente mi confronto con lo chef a riguardo del cibo che mi ha servito, facendogli notare quanto sia importante ed etico il nostro lavoro, in quanto offriamo qualcosa che le persone introducono dentro il loro corpo fidandosi di chi lo prepara. La sua risposta alle mie lamentele è stata un totale disinteresse alle mie preoccupazioni riguardo ciò che mi aveva servito!!!! Questo chef raggira i suoi clienti spacciando il suo pescato come fresco, ma utilizza solo del congelato da grande distribuzione!!!...

The worst dinner that we had in our life. DON’T trust the nice reviews that may you read about this place. The location is nice and warm, however the fish was NOT fresh, it was smelling. The servers were not professionals, and one of them almost dropped the entree on my cloths. We ordered 4 dishes and we DIDN’T eat any of them, because the food was smelling, we sent them back to the kitchen. The bill was in full euro 100 even though we had only the wine!!!! They charged us even the water that we didn’t order. The worst chef‘s answer was when he said that it is not a problem for him that we didn’t enjoy any of his food. After our complaints the chef removed only 3 euro the water that we never ordered !! Two people that we had ONLY wine (€29) we...
