Al Vecchio Corso Locanda (B&B e Ristorante) — Restaurant in Tèmpiu/Tempio Pausania

Al Vecchio Corso Locanda is an excellent restaurant with rooms. Pierfranco gave us a very warm and helpful welcome, he offered to move his car so that we could park ours and he could not have been more hospitable and friendly. There are rooms on the second floor, and a suite on the third, very nicely furnished with antiques and quirky items and with very new bathrooms. Ours was spacious and comfortable, with a window over the extremely quiet street behind the restaurant/hotel. The bathroom, apart from being very new, was large enough and had a good shower.||Breakfast was one of the best, lovely bread, the best croissants, meats, cheeses, cake and excellent coffee. We ate dinner our first night, with impeccable service, advice on food and wine by Pierfranco, and delicious and interesting dishes. In last September Pier Franco, his wife, and a colleague Marianne took over this place. It is a sublime magic. Even if you have no plan to visit Sardignia, let alone Tempio Pausania, make it happen just to experience this magic. Room is amazingly clean, the entire house is spectacular, the wine cellar is so full of characters and beautifully decorated. Food and wine and desserts all to die for. On top of that the beautiful personalities of the owners that will steal your heart. Tempio is a fascinatingly REAL town filled with ancient churches, music, piazzas, and pizzerias. I recently visited Tempio and stayed at this gem of a small hotel with my family, 3 adults and 2 children, 12 and 10. The hotel is excellent, very charming and Thomas and his wife are the perfect hosts. |It is right in the center of the historic beautiful and bustling town. |Definitely recommend it for a family, or couples looking for a romantic place to stay. |We also had a meal at their restaurant. Excellent food and service. I recommend the fresh porcini risotto, if you happen to go there at the right time of year.
