I would give 10 stars but Google doesn‘t have 10 stars. :(
We visited this restaurant last week because the one we wanted to visit was closed. It felt like there was a reason for this and we “were sent” to La Pignata.
It was our friend‘s birthday and when the restaurant found out, they arranged a birthday surprise like no other, for the birthday guest. The whole evening, the food didn‘t seem to stop coming - little extras which we didn’t order - and the aim was to lift our spirits for this special day with shots of limoncello on top of us having to drink the bottle of wine we ordered!
Food-wise, everything we ordered (and didn’t order) was very good. You can feel the passion of Antonio and his staff as they go about their work and as they attend to their guests. It is no wonder that the restaurant was packed.
I honestly don’t know how to thank Antonio, the lovely waitress who served us and whose name I unfortunately didn‘t get, as well as the whole team for making this dinner truly, truly special - except to write a good review - because we do not live in Taranto.
If you are local and looking for a lovely restaurant, or on a visit to Taranto, it will definitely be worth your while to seek out La Pignata.

Read moreMy wife and I experienced Ristorante la Pignata and we both loved and highly recommend it! The restaurant is well worth venturing to for its food, drinks and most importantly staff. We arrived a bit early, before the restaurant opened for the dinner service and were taken a door down the road to their Wine bar, where they offered us Prosecco and nibbles while we waited. We got to speak with their lovely waitress and exchanged on European culture - great time. Once the restaurant was opened we went back in and the lovely experience kept on delivering with great primi and secondi - their mixed starters is exquisite. We travel a fair bit and their customer service was up there with friendly yet professional touch, add to that the value for money is ridiculously cheap -...
Read moreAbsolutely amazing restaurant. Arrived with no reservation on a Saturday and they were super accomodating, huge complimentary aperitivo, we then ordered the antipasto which was gigantic and delicious, 12 different dishes! Fortunately we had only ordered one pasta to share which was also huge and also delicious. Finished with homemade biscotti and a shot of limoncello. The only small downside was that we were given the limoncello without ordering it and then got charged 6 euro for it, i think if they had asked it would have been fine but to pour the shots without asking is...
