Al Capitano Sam — Restaurant in Tarvisio

We arrived around 1830 with a big group and got our pizzas just before 21! We were advised it might take 40minutes as they are busy but we didn't even manage to order with 40 minutes. They just sat us in a corner inside and serviced other tables outside so that they could empty the tables and get new people to come. We saw multiple tables come, order, leave. They also ran out of draft beer, bottled beer and limoncello. Never have I seen anything as crazy. The owners only justification was showing us a paper with 1923 written on it which i guess might have been the time our order was taken. No apology or no awknowledgement of the situation. The food was ok but knowing how to cook doesn't cut it. The servers themselves seemed nice but were obviously under the instructions...

After 40 minutes of patient waiting, and having already seen 4 tables being served before us even though we were at the restaurant well before them, we left when they started to serve the 5th table which arrived after us. In more than 7 years of my hospitality career, I have not seen worse service performance at a restaurant. They might have great pizzas, but - to whomever is reading this - think twice if it is worth your time. We walked to a restaurant of Nevada hotel, and we were eating pizza before I managed to write this review till the end. And it's not bad even....

Jennifer: La titolare, che al telefono al momento della mia prenotazione si é spesa con carineria e garbo, cose che suonano di altri tempi, ma ritengo siano ancora oggi valore aggiunto.

Amalia: La giovane cameriera che ci ha accolto al ristorante, un sorriso avvolgente, che ti mette subito a tuo agio.

Mario: Collega di Amalia, pronto a comprendere al volo le esigenze del cliente, molto preso nel suo compito.

Franceso: Lo chef, e titolare, sente sulle proprie spalle la responsbilitá della cucina, ed il suo impegno lo scopri nella qualitá e nel gusto delle portate.

Si mangia molto bene! I piatti di pesce, dagli antipasti alla frittura di calamari sono ottimi, i contorni come le "chips", sono perfetti.

La pizza, grazie ad un impasto leggero, ed un bordo alto e morbido, supera qualsiasi migliore aspettativa uno possa avere.

Dei dolci, ho provato il tiramisú, classico fatto in casa, difficile descriverlo bene, posso solo dire che l´ho trovato superiore a quello di casa mia, anche in questo caso ho apprezzato la leggerezza della crema al mascarpone, vellutata come mai.

Concludo dicendo che il servizio al tavolo é stato impeccabile, rapido e preciso, pronto ad eventuali esigenze aggiuntive, ho pranzato in compagnia della mia fedele "Luna", giovane cucciola di Golden Retriever. Quindi se siete di zona a Tarvisio, ma anche se non lo siete, regalatevi un pranzo o una cena dal...
