We feel so privileged to have met Danilo and dine in his Enoteca.
Found through google maps, we were curious to understand the restaurant as we felt some of the reviews didn't seem right, boy how lucky were we.
Danilo serves is his words ancient, traditional Umbrian recipes.
We came in curious to try something new and trusted him completely in his recommendations on food and wine.
The goose ragu and gnocchi (something we had never tried before, or perhaps wouldn't have ordered without his recommendation) was exceptional. It was delicate and refined.
Wild boar ragu with papperdelle was phenomenal, again our first time trying and we haven't been able to find anything quite as amazing.
Followed by the suckling pig with wilted greens 🤌
We finished with Danilos favourite the pistachio semifreddo.
Our only regret is we didn't go back to try the traditional soups and other menu items.

Read moreArriviamo 15 minuti dopo la prenotazione… ci scusiamo più volte.. nonostante questo il cameriere un po’ strano.. sicuramente stanco ma ci tratta con un po’ di sufficienza.. sembra quasi che ogni cosa che chiediamo e giuro che siamo persone molto tranquille e poco richiestive, sia di troppo. Detto umilmente, di solito andiamo via dai ristoranti facendo amicizia e tante risate, oggi zero. Esempio “possiamo avere oltre al caffè una crostata e una grappa? Risposta: “eh vabbè” …. Boh… in questo senso si poteva fare tanto meglio.
cibo ok. Sarà che siamo abituati estremamente bene a casa ma niente di speciale. Tagliere “umbro” x1: mortadella, salamino affettato sottile non poi così gustoso, crudo molto buono e capocollo + 3 pecorini davvero buoni. Strozzapreti cacio e pepe con fave e pancetta: buono l’abbinamento ma la sensazione è che la pasta sia stata riscaldata… maialino okay niente di speciale, un po’ troppo oleoso.. Crostata alle albicocche buona e servita calda!
