Al Corbezzolo — Restaurant in Torre del Greco

You will find some the world's greatest hospitality and kindness in this small peaceful hotel, conveniently located in a natural spot away from the city but close to local transport links.

Hospitality: I received amazing service and hospitality from Michele during my stay at Al Corbezzolo. He looked after everything I needed and made sure I could get around the city and visit everything I wanted to. Michele has a heart of gold and he will "be your Cicero" and look after you during your time in Naples. Hotel staff contacted me before I took my flight to welcome me and help me with my stay. I have travelled far and this was the best hospitality I have received in my life. He even offered me a ride on the back of his Piaggio after his shift - what an authentic way to experience Italy. Above and beyond expectations, 10 out of 10 for Michele! It was easy to communicate with all of the staff in English and with google translate for more complex conversations.

Transport: the hotel staff offered me to pick me up from the airport for €50 for the ~30 km drive to the hotel; this was a great offer considering that on a separate occasion I paid €28 on a taxi just for the 5 km journey between the airport. Hotel is 5 mins walk to a small station with direct links to the central station and to Pompeii.

Location: the hotel is well located in the Torre Del Greco commune outside of Naples. It is situated in a peaceful pine wood at the foot of the Vesuvius national park. It is a good base for visiting Pompeii, Herculaneum, Vesuvius, the beach or the city. There is a small train station 5 minutes walk away, and a supermarket 10 minutes away. It takes about 40 mimutes to travel to the city. Access to the hotel is from the road Via Giovanni XXIII. It was hard to see on Google maps where the entrance is but it's easy to find in person - the google map coordinates are 40.7752009, Long and there is a sign at the entrance path.

Facilities: the room was comfortable, clean, peaceful and a good size. The facilities were minimal and were what should be expected for a hotel at this price; don't expect a luxury hotel. There are two buildings, the main building with restaurants and the rooms with balconies; and a second small building in the woods with other rooms. I was in the small building. The main building had WiFi but the small building did not; however my phone internet worked perfectly and I liked the peacefulness of the small building.

Food: free small breakfast consisted of delicious local pastries. I didn't try the restaurant because I arrived late and it was closed during the next day. Delivery from local pizzarias available even late at night. I decided to buy water from the local supermarket and preferred this to the tap water.

Deludente, tutto troppo deludente. Antipasto freddo e insapore, insalata di polipo troppo gommoso e troppo freddo, un piattino di cozze pulite male troppo salate, un merluzzo in crema di patate e semola sapore ferroso e terroso, un piatto di 2 pagelli fritti (carne vecchissima, mancava il sale), polpi alla lucìana potrei definirli polpi in acqua scura, cubetti di salmone al forno: la cottura troppo elevata ha reso la carne secca ed insapore. Dopo un'antipasto del genere stavo per andare via, ma la mia curiosità mi è costata cara ho ordinato le linguine all'astice, non l'avessi mai fatto! La cottura della linguina era buona ma il resto non era alla sua altezza la salsa era un preparato completamente diverso dal sapore della carne dell'astice, quest' ultima non era fresca o la cottura era fatta male, la carne dell'astice l'ho trovata insapore e stopposa! Dolci... erano dei gelati! Dopo il caffè dopo l'amaro scappo via pagando quasi 200 euro, menomale che non ho preso il secondo! Location fatiscente definirlo ristorante sarebbe assurdo! Vista sull'autostrada, insetti ovunque, mi hanno lasciato mangiare fra vento e pioggia! Mai più! Ultima aggiunta; c'era un signore penso il Maître, fastidioso passava per ogni tavolo disturbando chiunque con la solita frase 《vi sta piacendo? E di vostro gradimento?》. Ma la cosa più antipatica, durante l'ordinazione cercava in tutti i modi di far scegliere i piatti da lui consigliati! Mi dispiace ma non si...

Ho mangiato li in occasione di un compleanno, partendo dai fritti timballo con pasta scotta che sapeva solo di quello, frittelle nella media, mentre gli arancini avevano anche un buon sapore ma il riso era piu che scotto. Pizze, wurstel e patate, crocco pizza e margherita, partendo dal presupposto che erano piene d'olio erano molto pesanti con l impasto pieno di lievito e in più cotte male, sapore neanche male però si può fare di molto meglio! Infine profiteroles con il gelato o forse dovrei dire CONGELATO dato che per mangiarlo la forchetta non bastava. In più ad un ragazzo celiaco hanno portato un antipasto di crudo e "parmigiano" precisamente tre scaglie, manco un bocconcino di mozzarella, tagliata di carne cotta male e alla fine friarielli con anche stavolta tre fette di una specie di formaggio tipo "ricotta" che a suo giudizio di gusto non convincente. Insomma mangiato abbastanza male, sicuramente non immangiabile, non so se perche eravamo tutti ragazzi e quindi hanno deciso di servirci in modo diverso come spesso capita, che comunque ho sentito che si mangiava bene lì, tornerò non credo, ma solo per capire meglio, sono...
