Wonderful Dinner

During our 3-night stay in Trevignano Romano this was the best place we've had dinner at. And also - on our whole 5-week trip through Italy - this place had the best pizza!

Like some other posters said, this place now sits right at the lake at their new location. Great food with a great view.

Service was fast and friendly and our dog welcome (we were sitting outside of course). We ordered a litre of red house wine (6 Euros!), Spaghetti Vongole, Pizza Diavola and a Panna Cotta for dessert. The Spaghetti were perfectly al dente and the vongole fresh. The Pizza looked normal, but tasted fantastic. Just a few ingredients: Mozzarella, spicy salami, fresh and fruity tomato base, some spices. Combined with a crispy thin dough. But together that made a perfect pizza, like I said: best one yet in Italy. Panna Cotta for dessert was nice, light and refreshing with raspberries and blueberries. And the whole meal only was 33 Euros. Talk about value. Great location, friendly staff, great dishes....what else you need. Highly...

This is the place to go for good grilled food (meat especially), among other great dishes. The menu has a nice variety of choices, and the surroundings are cozy, partly due to the eclectic decor, and to the generous staff as well!

The wine menu is also full of good choices to pair with any meal offered. One of my favorite sides, though, is stuffed zucchini blossoms. They're fried (which I love) so don't expect it to be low in calories......share with a dining companion. They also do pizza for take away, which is nice.

For the past 20 years, we’ve been coming to Il Carratello to enjoy not only the stunning views of Lake Bracciano, but also the consistently delicious food. The steak is always a highlight—perfectly rare and packed with flavor—and the tiramisu is, without a doubt, the best we’ve had in all of Italy! Every pasta dish we’ve tried has been equally delightful, and the warm, welcoming staff always make us feel right at home.
