Rock Island Pub — Restaurant in Trevignano Romano

It was during a summer weekdays (not weekends) and the place isn’t full. Actually, I called them up 2 & a half hour before and asked if they got an available table for two. Got a reservation for 21:00. We arrived 10 minutes early and had us accommodated. 21:15 another couple sat beside us and got served right away. Another 20 minutes passed but nobody came. I stood up to ask the owner if he can send somebody but the waitress (not the newbie waitress) saw me about to cross the road and stood up from the bench in front of the pub (she was calmly smoking) and said she’ll be right over…. Gave us the menu and asked if we want something right away. It was summer. It was hot at 21:35. A couple of cold beer would be nice “right away”. 10 minutes, no beers. She returned. No beer. She asked if the new girl gave us the drinks. The table is dry. Not even a wet circle from the glass. Nope. Not even a drop of beer has arrived. We haven’t even had our cutlery packs yet. Got our beer but didn’t asked what we want to eat. 10 minutes passed to get our order. The kitchen works well since the time it took for our food to arrive is discreetly on time. Except for the desert: cheesecake. Not the usual sublime cheesecake that I have eaten there. It was in liquid state already (maybe because it was summer and it was hot) but it’s like eating yogurt with jelly and wild berries or maybe it was. I normally leave them tips (once was €20 since it was on Saturday and the staff was working really hard and I enjoyed my meal and drinks) but not that time.

(NOTE: this isn’t the first time in this place. We been going there these past 25 years. Not every night, though. We always cycle the places if we want to dine out in town. Even the shops.)

Unfortunately, I won’t be coming back sooner than expected. Only time can tell. Maybe a more attentive crew.

Siamo state li circa 2 settimane fa eravamo 6 ragazze.. dovevamo cenare e bere qualcosa.. arrivate tardi.. siamo rimaste ad aspettare un tavolo che si liberasse.. cosi nel frattempo abbiamo preso da bere e atteso.. un cameriere ci ha detto che appena si sarebbe liberato un tavolo potevamo sederci.. e cosi abbiamo fatto.. lui torna dicendo che il tavolo era prenotato sbuffando perché aveva prenotato il tavolo ai suoi amichetti arrivati mezz ora dopo di noi.. mi dispiace perché in passato ci siamo trovate bene.. ma con quei 2 camerieri questa volta proprio no..Perche oltre a questo ci hanno trattati come se fossimo li per occupare il tavolo e basta.. sotto i loro sguardi e occhiatacce.. mettendoci a disagio..cosi hanno perso ben 10 clienti.. e forse saremmo dovute entrare e far...

Purtroppo devo lasciare una recensione negativa per questo locale. Io e i miei amici ci andiamo spesso a bere, ma ogni volta veniamo accolti con sguardi infastiditi e atteggiamenti maleducati da parte dello staff. I baristi sono spesso scortesi, rispondono in modo arrogante o svogliato, facendoci sentire completamente a disagio, come se fossimo un disturbo piuttosto che dei clienti abituali. È davvero un peccato, perché il posto potrebbe avere del potenziale, ma il comportamento del personale rovina completamente l’esperienza. Non credo torneremo ancora, ed è un peccato dover evitare un locale per colpa della scortesia di...
