Osteria enoteca da Michele — Restaurant in Udine

I´m a bit disappointed, especially after reading the other reviews. The location was really nice and also the wine was quite pleasant. I almost never give bad reviews but the two guys working there at that night just ignored us. We were sitting right in front of the bar and one of them was just chatting with other customers.

I´m patient and I understand if they have stress but a simple, we will be there in a minute would´ve been nice. After around 7-8 min we were able to order. My partner finished his wine almost 10 min before me and was sitting in front of the empty glass, ready to order another one, but no one cared, although it wasn´t too busy.

We didn´t feel welcome, it makes me sad, I never had that in Italy, not sure if we did...

Sono entrato in questo locale poiché attirato dalla Location e dalla sua tipologia ovvero: enoteca. Purtroppo, appena entrato, trovo davvero una scarsa considerazione per il cliente - cosa che dovrebbe essere alla base di qualsiasi locale - ma andiamo con ordine: Sono da solo e chiedo un posto a sedere al tavolo - tavolo normale NON sgabello "per assaggio". C'erano 2 tavoli liberi "bassi" ed erano già le 9.00/9.15, i tavoli non erano prenotati. Il titolare mi impone di NON accomodarmi a quei tavoli perché teme che possa togliere posti a gruppi o a compagnie "numerose". Erano 2 tavoli da max. 4 persone, forse uno dei 2 anche divisibile. Richiedo espressamente che avrei gradito sedermi comunque al tavolo basso, replica che per me (1 persona) c'è solo - discrimine assurdo - lo sgabello con tavolo alto per mangiare. Chiaramente replico e trovo il suo volto stranito. Ma stranito da cosa ? un cliente ti sta chiedendo espressamente che vuole accomodarsi ad un vero tavolo e tu continui a proporre lo sgabello ? Proponi lo sgabello perché temi di perdere 3 coperti ? alle 21.15 del mercoledì sera ? Avrei mangiato in circa 30 minuti -anche questo detto ma la sua posizione non è cambiata.

Detto ciò e dalle sue risposte ho chiaramente compreso che mi trovavo di fronte al classico titolare arrogante "sò tutto io" quello che crede di saperne ma che in realtà di ristorazione e degustazioni/vini né capisce ben poco.

Nel mentre, mi rendo anche conto che molto probabilmente sia il cibo ma anche il rapporto qualità prezzo dei vini non è un granché. Non li ho provati, ma alcune cose si percepiscono e sentono "a naso". Vado poi oggi su Google recensioni e guarda un pò ?! avevo ragione. Menomale che me ne sono andato senza mangiare, nè bere, poiché allo sgabello, a fianco dalla porta (come non so chi) non volevo starci. Mandato a quel paese esco e me ne vado. Ideal place for a decent Osteria in Udine‘s historic center. A variety of wines available. We chose to spend the evening there after having dinner at another restaurant. The waitress was obviously not enthusiastic about serving international tourists and her recommendation for the first round of white wine was rather disappointing. We ordered 3 individual types of wine for the second round and the waitress didn’t even know wines of the house menu (I ordered a Gavi) but complained about foreign languages.
