We have been going to Il Pozzo for 15 years. We found this Unique restaurant when we first arrived to live in Italia. It was a little hard to find at first, but once found it fast becomes a favorite. It is a Slow Food Movement Restaurant. Slow Food is an organization that promotes local food and traditional cooking. It was founded by Carlo Petrini in Italy in 1986 and has since spread worldwide. The setting is so Italian and intimate inside and so summery when the garden is open outside. The pizzaiolo, is so Good, he is so fantastic, he makes it look so Easy and effortless, and not only does he make the pizza’s But he also cooks the steaks and other dishes from the chefs end in the oven. They always have something Fresh and in season and is prepared in such a way, you will want to eat it forever, although it will only be served during the season. The Food is so AMAZING, it cannot be compared to any other restaurant. The two owners are super nice and have their fingers in every aspect of the operation. The selection of wine is so diverse and so affordable. If you are ever in the area It is a MUST!! Can't...
Read moreWhile staying in Sillico for a week, we followed a fellow traveler's recommendation to visit Il Pozza and were very happy we did. As other reviewers have noted, book ahead. But most importantly - the food was excellent! We had pizzas, bruschetta, pasta, & desserts on our two visits and nothing failed to please. If you're a chocolate fan, I highly recommend their chocolate "cake" dessert. The staff were friendly and helpful and our lack of Italian didn't hinder our ability to communicate much (with the help of google translate to look up some things...
Read moreHaving eaten here numerous times over the years , our experience was bad. Service was not good, food ranged from average to not good, I understand that every restaurant has an off day but when we asked to speak to the person in charge we did not expect " Do not cross my door ever again! Just cook at home!" Possibly the most arrogant , I couldn't care less answer ever. Pozzo will continue to be busy, and sometimes food and service will be good, but as a customer, I expect more than a lottery . Beware also the hidden cover charge .Should this not be on the menu we asked? The response was another classic, " If I put it on the menu , people would walk out!" Make your own judgement, but on the advice of the owner, we...
