My wife and I just spent 10 days traveling Italy and Switzerland and this was the best meal we had. Absolutely incredible food, service, and value! Highly highly highly recommend if you are passing through Barga! One anecdote that made a big impression on me was I got a special off the menu which was a filet topped with truffles towards the end of the evening and the server made a special point to knock off the price a bit because he didn’t feel there was enough truffle on it. I came here for an early dinner. Actually it was more like a brunch. Much to my surprise, I found a success menu. In this menu, which was called 'the black menu', I had a deep truffle 3 course meal. This arrayed before me in a heavenly feast. My heart was filled with visions of truffle taggiolini. Eggs, pasta, steak.

Of course, no man would be complete without alcohol for breakfast. I dipped a fantastic house red inside the bread.

We have been staying in Barga for almost 2 months, and have eaten at Scacciaguai 6 times... and 3 more nights booked before we leave. We have never been disappointed - the food and service is excellent. Nicola, Lorenzo, Riccardo (before he hurt his ankle!) and Chiara have taken very good care of us. We often order the truffle-oriented dishes that are on the menu whenever they can get fresh truffles. We particularly like the eggs antipasto, and my wife adores the cheesecake with tomato jam.
