Baita Layet — Restaurant in Valtournenche

This must be the cutest and friendliest hotel in Cervinia! The baita is an old farm with a few rooms, secluded on the hillside a few minutes from Cervinia with views over the mountains, it even sports its own chapel. Rooms are spotlessly clean and comfortable. Breakfast and dinner is served in the cosy restaurant with a fireplace and a stove. Food is rustique, well made and plentiful, always cooked with lots of love. They serve a beautiful mixed antipasto, and do not miss the russian borstj and the goulash! An excellent house wine is offered with dinner. Olga and Ottavio do anything to make you feel like home. Ottavio drove us back and forth to the pists in his Landrover whenever we wished, so we didn't have to worry about parking. Skiing in Cervinia is very good in all conditions due to the altitude and layout of the system, you can always ski in Valtournenche if it is windy. We hope to return soon the the...

If you're looking for a place to stay while skiing in Cervinia, and you want to feel like mountaineer this is a great option for you. This is also a grait place to stay with kids (especially if you're cats lover). The place is also dogs friendly. We ordered only bed and breafasts (we assumed that we'll going to eat out), but decided to eat dinners as well. The food was great, diversed, and in very reasoable price. Although it doesn't offer ski-in ski-out, Otavio the owner takes his guests to and from Cervinia's main ski lifts, so for me this "texi" service is a complete compensation. Altough this is my first time there, it fealt to me that I met new friends there. Thank you very much Otavio, and Olga for your hospitality. It fealt like a home for me.
