We stayed here just for one night as we came from Tuscany to visit Venice. The guest house is located in Favaro right near the grape fields. The road leading to the Locanda is a typical countryside narrow path with curvy turns and picturesque scenery around. We arrived to this lovely mini hotel right during the late lunch time and were surprised with how crowded the open air terrace of the restaurant was. We parked our car just opposite the restaurant where was the free of charge parking with many slots. As the parking was fully occupied we made a conclusion that locals come to the restaurant specially to enjoy local homemade dishes (and frankly this is always a good hint for a tourist to pick the right eating out place). We were directed by the staff to the bar area where we met the owner who gave us keys from apartments and charged our card for the stay. The apartments had separate entrance heading right to the second floor where rooms were situated. As there were free of us traveling we booked two rooms. My friend who traveled with 11 y.o. daughter was given a more spacious room with one large king size bed and one narrow single bed. I had a smaller room with a queen size bed. Each room had a private bathroom and windows overlooking inner yard. In the morning hours you would be able to hear a rooster roars. The family has goats, roosters and other livestock. Kids had lots of fun when watching them walking in a special fenced place on the territory. At the restaurant owners served delicious homemade local food. The bill was pretty fair. They didn't have a menu. A waitress told us which meals of the day they have as a starter or a main course or for the dessert. We were content with portions and quality of meals. The guest house is small and owners are very friendly. When we came back from Venice after the late concert owners served us some meal as we were starving. Venice is located 20 minutes drive. It was a great short stay in an authentic atmosphere of an Italian farm house. I would definitely recommend it to all my friends and family. Wish we would comeback...

Read moreMy husband and I decided to stay near Marco Polo Airport for one night since our flight arrived at 8:30pm. We made it to Locanda al Convento by about 9:30pm after taking the bus from the airport into Veneto. On arrival we felt a very warm and friendly family like atmosphere. The location has a very country feeling with a beautiful outside porch. The owner gave us a cold beer when we arrived and we asked if we could have dinner, which was no problem. The owner, his wife and some of the staff do not speak English but tried very hard to communicate with us which was very appreciated. The owners daughter Eleomorou served us dinner. She has a very fun and lively personality and speaks English very well. The food was delicious. We started with a creamy potato salad style appetizer, then a garden salad which was made from fresh vegetables grown from their garden, a delicious pasta with homemade meat sauce, and finished with the best Tiramisu made by Elemorou mother. It was served with homemade wine made from their vineyard. It was the best meal of our 2 week adventure in Europe. Another English speaking staff member took the time to point out how to get to Venice in the morning by bus and all the special places to see in Venice while we were there. The room was very clean, comfortable and had a country feel. We didn't realize how beautiful the property was until we saw the beautiful view from the room in the morning. The breakfast was also delicious with fresh made pastries, juice, fruit and coffee. As we left we knew we will return again, it is such a nice little retreat to recharge your energy. We highly recommend...
