What a surprise, and I mean omg what a surprise . I asked to a friend about “ where do you think it’s the best steakhouse in Verona “ and he suggested “ Guapo “ . Friends of the the meats community ? Please listen to me , and I mean it , please do not skip this restaurant if you are in town. I was aspecting 8 and I found 10 . The service was outstanding and really welcoming, the vibe was like a perfect steakhouse but in this case it was Argentinian . Let me start with the appetizer : it was a little big tartar aged 90 days compressed grounded meat with different sauces , from honey mustard, to truffle to orange to anchovies pearls , it was delight …. The bites are perfectly made and really beautifuly presented . 10/10 ( the orange flavor was a little too extreme for me but that’s really personal ) . But here is where I was super stocked “ SALT “ , few peoples understand the beauty of trying a great meat with a great salt and here my friends they know what’s up . From regular flaky salt to chilly salt to carbon to smoked to wine infused salt and few extra sauces it was the ultimate flavor companion with some of the best meat I ever had . We ordered medium rare and it was like sooooo perfect that I wanted to cry, every single bite was just perfect, the meat and fat was melting on my palate like a river of pleasure. I can’t explain , I didn’t aspect this quality of meat and the flavors remind me exactly an Argentinian steakhouse ( I than came to know they import some wood to have those flavors ) . Well we got 4 glasses of Prosecco and a bottle of wine and a cognac for 144 euro . And it was worth every cent . We will be back for sure...
Read moreTwo Meals and Total Satisfaction It was during a visit to Verona that we discovered this restaurant located near the city. We went there twice in one week. Once for lunch and once in the evening. Our first visit was perfect, with a selection of premium meats, one of the perks, and also the option to choose all the wines by the glass, which allows you to taste different qualities depending on the dish. Our second visit was in the evening to enjoy a different atmosphere. We tasted different meats but also exceptional ham. The purées are worth trying to accompany the meats. Our selections: Empanada, Pluma Ibérica de Pata Negra, Asado de Tira and Degustatione Premium, Tris di Purè, Purè al Lime. For the wine, we chose a Malbec. A selection of different salts accompanies the meats for a special tasting. The only minor complaint I have is that when we ordered the tasting platter, the warmer wasn't hot enough to keep the meat at the right temperature for long; it quickly went cold. I think this aspect needs to be addressed to ensure everything is perfect.
The dining room staff is professional and attentive. The kitchen team responds to your requests regarding the cooking of the meat.
The restaurant offers its customers the option to receive offers via a dedicated app if you wish to return to Verona.
We will definitely return to Verona.
I recommend this restaurant.
Greetings to Pablo and thanks for the pleasant conversation...
Read moreWe went in about 40 minutes before closing, and the staff was super friendly and welcoming. They helped us get seated and even suggested the best cuts!
We ended up getting the wagyu since I’ve been on the hunt for a good wagyu. The second was entraña del guapo because the server said it was one of the most flavorful cuts, with a bit more fat than the others. So we got them medium, but when we got it, it didn’t seem like it was medium. It was a bit more cooked, which was okay, but it didn’t have as much flavor as I’d hoped, especially for the wagyu, which didn’t really melt in our mouths which was disappointing. The entraña del guapo was much better, which was a surprise!
Adding different types of salt really made a difference. I loved trying them out with different salts. Surprisingly, the charcoal salt wasn’t as salty, which complemented the dish really well. Also, the pepper one was very tasty.
We tried finishing quickly since they were closing, and as we got up to pay, the staff came up to us asking if we wanted dessert. They said it was okay to take a seat and order dessert. They didn’t mind, which was really sweet. But I didn’t want them to stay way past closing, even though there was another table there. The employees didn’t want to make you feel rushed at all. It’s not often that you see that.
Overall, it’s a really nice place to go and enjoy some steak with the fries they tasted amazing and be in a nice chill...
