Trattoria Da Fiore — Restaurant in Verona

My friend has just turned back from Trattoria Da Fiore restaurant complaining about everything that was going on there . First of all the rudeness of the white,blonde waiter who seemed to have total authority over the place. That guy didn't hesitate to make stay uncomfortable from the first second he came in I mean in all means for illustration; he ordered rice but he refused to serve it justifying this as there should be at least 2 people in the table to get the rice , weird!!! When he asked him for the payment he told him literally " Hey wake up from the table and come here to pay ", after that he didn't wanna call a cab for him even though it was late at night, and last but not least the most devastating was the dinner price which was high. We would never go back to that place. Out of experience we don't recommend it to any one . Trust me it...

We had dinner last night, a week night. At least tree tables empty but dirty inside (still hot and humid outside at 9:15 pm). We ask for a table: the waiter looks inside and tells us "outside only". A second waiter comes, we tell him we'll wait for a few minutes until they'll clean one of the tables. We finally sit down: our waiter, the first who told us "outside only" comes to take our order with a smirk on his face, smirk which didn't leave his face the entire time we were there. Complete lack of attention to our needs, we saw the waiter when we ordered, when the food was brought to us, and when we paid. Not very busy, either. Food was not bad but nothing to write home about. I don't write a lot of reviews, but this place turned out to be a delightful surprise. We were staying at the nearby Best Western hotel and asked at check-in, where would your family go for your birthday. She recommended Trattoria Da Fiore. I noticed some of the older reviews were mixed, but more current reviews are good. I wanted to add to them.

Service was great (always a pleasant surprise in Italy). The food quality was excellent and the portions were huge for a fair price. Some of the standout dishes were the Calamari Forno, Mixed Grill, and the Salad (big salad, had tuna). My favorite dish was the Tortelloni Brasato starter.

Desert was wonderful as well: Salame Cioccolato and Semifreddo...
