Il Covo del Ribelle — Restaurant in Vicenza

Although I don’t get to enjoy this fantastic restaurant often, every time I bless myself with the choice of coming here it’s definitely for an important event, be it an anniversary or my birthday.

Although I love this place, some may say that it’s nowhere near as authentic as REAL Mexican cuisine (which is a fair point all things considered) but who am I to stop myself from eating just plain good food?

Let’s go through the pros and cons of this establishment:

Pros: The staff is very accommodating and welcome to any questions about the food (especially if you struggle with Spanish) as they really get into the nitty-gritty of how the dishes are composed.

This restaurant has an unexpected ace up its sleeve. The cocktails are to die for and they make the usual sangria but if that doesn’t float your boat their greatest asset is what I consider the best Mojito (w/different flavours!) in town as well as a small assortment of beer (the eccentric desperados and the more basic corona to be exact)

Cons: The locale is small, now, usually this doesn’t impact the experience as the clientele does follow a decent etiquette in terms of noise; plus they use different rooms for couples and for big groups but considering the popularity of Covo del Ribelle this restaurant is always full. You either are blessed by the Mexican gods to walk in willy nilly without waiting for a seat or you book days and sometimes weeks in advance depending on the size...

i do not like to share a bad review because i’ve been here multiple times , not once or twice. but there is always something bugs me. but this time i can not tolerate it anymore.

First i’ve ordered something and they brought something else (it might be mistaken since the thing itself may look alike) and they took it back and got us the what i actually ordered it. Their staff was nice though- Second, this is i can not tolerate we found hair not 1 but 2! The first one was in our guacamole and we closed an eye for it like we did not tell the waiter, BUT WHILE I WAS EATING the second hair was literally in my mouth ! And i told the waiter, she offered us to replace the whole meal but i said no because i can understand that might happen but what i dislike is at the end when we were paying they did not even asked us or even look concern of course i paid the whole meal. Third we have ordered guacamole with chorizo- it was not chorizo at all. its just minced meat lol

But the jalapeños rellenos was bomb.

Probably its just matter of organisation? Idk the service has its ups and downs But unfortunately always...

Bienvenidos en México en Vicenza…. Da ormai qualche anno se si vuole provare l’ebrezza di una cucina differente come quella Messicana e ci si trova nella zona di Vicenza, Il Covo Del Ribelle è probabilmente il luogo più indicato. Situato in zona Stanga (a due passi dagli impianti sportivi), sorge timidamente a lato della strada questa perla specializzata nella preparazione di piatti tipici messicani.

STRUTTURA ESTERNA: Purtoppo il parcheggio esterno è leggermente limitato, se il locale sarà troppo pieno sarà necessario cercare un luogo in cui lasciare l’auto nella zona limitrofa.

STRUTTURA INTERNA: Non appena si accede alla sala di ricevimento, si nota subito sulla destra il bar, dove si può ordine e sorseggiare un buon aperitivo (che vi verrà preparato davanti agli occhi) nel caso il tavolo riservato a voi non sia ancora pronto; oltre all’entrata il locale si divide in 3 sale ove è possibile gustare le innumerevoli pietanze d’oltre oceano. Ambiente tranquillo, aria frizzante, staff cortese e ben preparato.

MENU’: Nonostante talvolta qualcuno possa esitare nello scegliere un ristorante di questo tipo magari pensando che la tradizione messicana presenti solo piatti estremamente piccanti, c’è da precisare subito che la cucina è pronta a far fronte a praticamente tutte le esigenze (dal piatto più piccante, a quello completamente esente, il menu’ in questo caso si dimostra una valida guida visto che viene riportato a lato di ogni piatto, il grado di piccantezza con un simbolo). La carne domina. dopo infatti aver provato questo locale svariate volte e assagiato una buona varietà di piatti, posso dire che mediamente la qualità e la freschezza denotano una cura costante della scelta delle materie prime, e il gusto lo dimostra.

IL CONTO: Vista la qualità, il servizio, e lo splendida esperienza che si prova (per la prima o per l’ennesima volta) a gustare i piatti dell’interessante tradizione messicana, non si può dire altro che il prezzo è assolutamente corretto, nulla di più nulla di meno.

E dalle papille gustative di chi ha avuto la fortuna di mangiare alcuni di questi piatti direttamente nella terra natale (MEX), aggiungo un complimento particolare al locale per l’ottimo repertorio e per la grande qualità fornita.

PER CHI... Decisamente per tutti, piccoli, medi, grandi ... coppie e gruppi di amici, la cucina saprà senza dubbio stupirvi e non rimpiangerente questa nuova esperienza.

DATO CHE IL LUOGO E’ MOLTO RICHIESTO ANCHE IN GIORNI IN CUI NON CE LO SI ASPETTA E’ SEMPRE CONSIGLIATA LA PRENOTAZIONE VIA...
