Il Fauno is my absolute favorite restaurant in Vicenza. You can’t beat the food or the service from this classic family Italian restaurant. They make you feel like family from the very first time you step through the doors. From Antonio greeting you with a smile, and preparing my favorite drink (Hugo) while playing a record from his collection. To Andrea making the best desserts in the city and him and Laura always serving us the best food, with the best service. What a find! This restaurant happens to be near a US Base and hundreds of their employees dine here weekly. We met all the family: Antonio is the host with the utmost. Andrea, Antonio's brother is the masterful pastry chef (unremarkable desserts) and the oldest brother, Angelo, makes the best Pizza and fresh bread outside of Naples. Momma DAISY, is the masterful chef. I had one of her special dishes that she only makes when she has the fresh ingredients. All the ingredients are fresh and pretty much farm to table. While the atmosphere (1980s and 1990s vinyl music jams) and the service (very friendly staff) are pleasant, the food offerings are mediocre relative to other options in the neighborhood. We have been here three times over three years, and each time, the atmosphere and service were good, but the food was underwhelming.
