If you're planning a visit to the restaurant "Tibet" in the Italian Alps, I strongly advise you to reconsider. Despite its stunning location and breathtaking views, the treatment we received was anything but hospitable and respectful, far from what you'd expect from a place that prides itself on being serious and elegant. What they seem to confuse is "elegance" with arrogance, and they clearly have no grasp of what nobility truly means.

After a long day of hiking, we decided to stop by "Tibet" to relax and enjoy a beer while taking in the scenery. However, from the moment we entered, we were met with an indifferent and cold atmosphere. We waited a long time to be served, something the staff appeared not to notice or care about, as they seemed more preoccupied with other matters. They told us there was no food at that time.

The real disappointment came when, as we were consuming a beer, we noticed a helicopter had landed in the parking lot, right near our car. Upon leaving, our car was covered in dust and dirt due to the wind caused by the helicopter's blades. My boyfriend kindly asked if they could provide us with the name of the helicopter's owner so we could address the situation. The man in charge, seeing that my boyfriend was wearing hiking clothes rather than formal attire, treated us with an astonishing level of condescension and told us we were "not welcome," despite the fact that we had just consumed 2 beets like any other customer.

The worst part came when my boyfriend tried to reason with him and asked why he was acting that way. The man stood up, violently shoved my boyfriend out of the establishment, and shouted, "You are not welcome to my home." While some friends of the owner were laughing at him, actually dining. This sentence sums up what "Tibet" truly is: not a place for people coming to enjoy the mountains, but only for the owner's personal friends.

My boyfriend felt deeply intimidated and insulted by this aggressive, arrogant behavior. It's truly disheartening that such a beautiful place lacks any basic human decency. If the staff at "Tibet" ever visited the real Tibet, they would be taught a great lesson in how to treat others, especially those who choose to spend their money at their establishment. Hospitality, respect, and kindness should be non-negotiable in any restaurant, but unfortunately, these values are sorely missing here.

In short, "Tibet" offers incredible views, but what it lacks inside is far more important than any scenery: respect, kindness, and above...

Albergo & Ristorante Rifugio Tibet – Un'Esperienza da Ricordare al Passo dello Stelvio! Che giornata incredibile! Dal 13 al 15 giugno 2025, siamo tornati in Vespa con un gruppo di 10 vespisti del nostro club di Bologna. Abbiamo affrontato gli epici 48 veri tornanti che portano da Prato dello Stelvio al Passo dello Stelvio, con un dislivello di 1869 metri. Arrivati in cima, stanchi ma entusiasti, la nostra avventura ci ha portato a scoprire un luogo davvero speciale. Qualche anno fa, mi ero già fermato qui per un caffè e ne ero rimasto colpito: avevo notato con curiosità i piatti invitanti che uscivano dalla cucina, che erano veramente molto curati e belli, e un profumo stupendo si diffondeva, facendomi venire l'acquolina! Così, quando ho incontrato gli amici al Passo, alla loro domanda "Avete fame?", non ho avuto dubbi: "Allora vi porto in un localino che ho visto che è strepitoso!". Siamo risaliti tutti insieme all'Albergo & Ristorante Rifugio Tibet – Passo dello Stelvio, un posto bellissimo situato direttamente sul passo. Abbiamo pranzato all'interno, al riparo dal sole che spaccava le pietre, e la vista mozzafiato dalle finestre era davvero impagabile. Siamo stati subito accolti da Lara, una cameriera giovane e davvero empatica. Ho notato anche il resto del personale, sia dietro il bancone che tra i tavoli, sempre sorridente e accogliente con tutti i clienti, a riprova della cura del locale. Mentre ci portava il menù, abbiamo pensato attentamente alle scelte: io ho optato per i deliziosi pizzoccheri, mentre due amici hanno preso degli ottimi maccheroni con ragù di speck. Verso la fine del pasto, Lara è tornata al nostro tavolo chiedendo "È tutto a posto? Vi è piaciuto?". Abbiamo risposto con entusiasmo "Sì, sì!". A quel punto le ho detto: "Senti Lara, ti posso chiedere una cosa? Potresti far uscire lo chef dalla cucina? Volevo fargli i complimenti". E lei, con un sorriso, mi ha risposto: "Certo, è mio padre!". Lo chef Cristian è uscito titubante, guardandomi con occhi un po' smarriti, probabilmente pensando "Ma cosa vuole lui da me?". Mi sono alzato e gli sono andato incontro, gli ho stretto la mano e gli ho detto: "Complimenti, abbiamo mangiato veramente da Dio!". A quel punto, a modo mio, mi sono rivolto verso gli altri clienti del ristorante dicendo: "Scusate il disturbo! Volevo presentarvi lo chef e fargli i complimenti per l'ottimo cibo che è uscito dalla sua cucina." Ho cominciato un applauso che è stato subito seguito da tutti i clienti del ristorante; qualcuno si è persino alzato in piedi! L'atmosfera era perfetta per celebrare la nostra impresa. Dopo aver saldato il conto e aver lasciato il ristorante, la soddisfazione era palpabile. L'Albergo & Ristorante Rifugio Tibet – Passo dello Stelvio è un must per chiunque si avventuri su queste vette!

This place is located right on top of the Stelvio pass and the views are just absolutely gorgeous. We ate apfelstrüdel here. Although it wasn't anything like any apfelstrüdel I've ever tried before, it was totally delicious. The road up there is also totally worth it, it's truly wonderful and not that narrow or anything, it'd very doable. The staff was very friendly and even told us about the place and about how just yesterday the ski slope had to close because there wasn't enough snow anymore (mind, we visited on the 22nd of July).
