Ristorante Mainor — Restaurant in Vittorio Veneto

This was my pricier meal during my stay and it was still well under $50. Took the chefs menu options and it was done very well. Menu is extremely small but everything I had was well thought out and although a bit unique the combination of ingredients with each dish worked pretty well. Steak slices on top of a mayonnaise coleslaw with small pieces of apple and a root vegetable I can't quite place along with a chocolate dessert topped with a homemade caramel popcorn is a bit too complicated for someone with simple tastes but everything tasted very nice and went surprisingly well together. Outstanding dishes. Creative, refined use of mostly local ingredients. The chef is young and passionate and serves dishes of an outstanding, high-end restaurant like quality at very reasonable prices (about 50 euros pp for the full menu -4 courses- with wine). L'esperienza personale è stata alquanto deludente. Io e il mio compagno ci siamo fermati per il pranzo. Cameriera molto giovane, cafona, saccente fin dal primo "contatto" e quasi infastidita dal nostro arrivo (unici clienti). Abbiamo richiesto spiegazioni su alcuni piatti del loro elaborato menù e a malapena risposto con un filo di voce quasi non udibile. Ho fatto i complimenti per il locale moderno e comunque bello (unica stella) e ottenuto un grazie di malavoglia (ma chi glielo ha chiesto). Abbiamo mangiato male (io un piatto di ravioli con ricotta sarda insipidi), pagato tanto per due primi e usciti con fame. La cosa che mi ha sicuramente più infastidito è stata la scortesia ri-confermata della cameriera che all'uscita, al nostro saluto (di noi entrambi e ben udibile) non ha nemmeno risposto ed ha continuato a sparecchiare la tavola come se niente fosse.
