Stopped here for lunch on Sunday.
Restaurant is old and fairly small. You take your shoes off after entering and sit on tatami mats.
The people who served us didn't speak any english and we known only a few words of japanese, but the menu includes photos and google translate helps.
For a very reasonable price we had a set menu of unagi on rice, pickes, vegetables and miso. Tea is provided along with a flask so that the teapot can be topped up.

Read moreFantastic Unagi. One of those holes in the wall who specializes in one dish and does it well. We went for the Set (3400 Yen), which included amazingly silky tofu in delicate soy sauce, small bowl of perfect rice. Few pickles and small fine-ish Salad and Soup.
The Unagi was generously portioned, very lightly flavored, unlike most places where the sauce dominate
There is a bottle of extra sauce, which goes very well with the rice.

Read moreWent here a couple years back with my GF. We got the chicken / pork dishes to save on our limited budget but they were so good too! The tofu in the dish was amazing and when we asked the owner about it he gave us more for free! Later we went to the supermarket and bumped into him again, who gave us a ride back to our hostel. Super nice!
Hope to come back again to try the unagi sometime. I wonder if the Instax selfie we took is still on his...
