Hokkaido Ramen Santouka — Restaurant in Asahikawa

Asahikawa Ramen Village: Typical ramen shop set up that is available also in Sg, but this serves our favourite ramen in the whole of Hokkaido, thus far. Noodles were slightly slimmer than the usual wavy Hokkaido Ramen, and produced a nice bite. The broths were tasty without being overtly salty. Best part was even my wife commended that their cha siu was nicely done and soft. That to me, is a big award and i absolutely agree! They even sell packed char siew and ramen off...

We have tried Santouka ramen in Costa Mesa, Torrance, San Diego CA as well as in Taiwan. Now we got to visit the city origin: Asahikawa. The quality and taste is consistently good, it's our go-to comfort food. The Toroniku pork and tonkatsu broth are definitely scrumptious. Not bad. Didn't give a choice of firmness of ramen, oil and soup seasoning levels, but overall good. Not too salty. Service was good. 11 of us were split into 3 groups which we didn't mind.
