This cafe has been operating for more than 50 years with a rich history behind it if you care to ask the shop owner. A collection of delicate ceramic line the shelf as you walk in and most of them has some kind of story as well. The walls are lined with art painted by the owner and previous residents to the place. The whole place is a blast to the past with a authentic feel unlike a man-made feeling created in bigger cities. That said, if you're looking for something modern and fashionable, this is place is not that.
For the coffee, it's all hand drip and made old school style. Toast is nice and crisp on the outside and fluffy in the inside with a cut banana and cherry on top.
Food is also well made and tastes good. A good variety is available.

It was at some point in November 2019, probably around the 10th : I went there with a full backpack, having walked from the Yumebutai complex. The air was cool, but the weather absolutely perfect. I came at the Moka Cafe at around 4PM, nobody in sight but two elderly people reading their newspaper. I was, on the spot, prepared a curry rice, for about 450 yens, not more.
It was one of the best, if not the best, that I've eaten during my whole Japan experience. Picturesque background, nothing to see but plenty to feel atmosphere, and a welcoming sense that would bring tears to the coldest person on earth : this cafe is not the touristic place one could be looking for, but it is the kind of place that everybody hopes for when thinking of the warmth of home.

Read more海沿いから一本入った商店街にある、昔ながらの喫茶店は地元の方々の集いの場! 淡路島旅の朝食を、とモーニングがおいしそうな喫茶店を探していて見つけました。目の前でサイフォンからいれてくれるコーヒーはもちろん、ホットサンドもトーストもおいしく、ゆったりとした朝の時間を過ごすことができました。
国道を挟んだ海辺にある市営駐車場は1時間無料! 駐車場があるかお電話で確認すると、優しく教えてくれました。また、年末に訪れたのでやっているかなぁと心配したのですが、毎日instagramを更新してくれているので営業日がよく分かりました。
ランチやスイーツもおいしそうなので、また別の時間帯にも訪れたいです。次から次へとやってくる常連さんたちで賑わう素敵...
