It was a hot summer day and I chanced upon this cafe on Google maps when looking for a place to seek refuge after cycling around under the merciless sun. Was warmly welcomed by the lady owner when I entered. She patiently explained the available pastries and the flavours of their homemade gelato. The interior was bright yet feels cozy and there is a terrace that looks out to the beautiful alps and rice field.
The cafe was opened a few months ago and is run by a couple. They were incredibly friendly and showed genuine interest during our lovely conversation. Despite our language barrier, I had a great time chatting with them while enjoying the delicious gelato and cold brew coffee. (Google translate is amazing! But can still give errors sometimes 😆) Time flew by and I was back on the road, with a bag of freshly roasted coffee beans, a list of recommendations for my future trips to Japan and my heart full ❤️
