HaiDiLao Hot pot — Restaurant in Chiba

Came for the hot pot, stayed for the sauces. This is my current favorite Chinese style hot pot restaurant. What’s hot: A wide variety of soup bases. My top picks are the pickled sour vegetable soup and peppered pork guts soup. I could just drink them as they are! The sauce station is an absolute must. The aromatic chili oils are amazing! Order the special hand pulled noodles for a presentation spectacle at your table. A full play room for kids with with an observation camera that you can check from the tablet provided at each table. Unable to finish your food? Let nothing go to waste. Ask for plastic containers and bring your leftovers home! Last but not least the staff are super friendly and attentive. Great service.

What’s not: It gets expensive as you pile on the options. That said, what you pay is what you get and they serve quality stuff. Just be aware of your final tally in your checkout cart in the ordering app. The ordering app has multiple language options but the translations seem incomplete for English and Japanese options. So delicious but so much sodium. I always feel thirsty before going to bed....

The first time I went was on a holiday at lunchtime, and it was not very crowded, and the second time I went was on a holiday evening, and it was very crowded. All the ingredients were delicious, but the portion for one was large that I was full before I could eat all the different ingredients, so I would recommend ordering a half-size portion first. The white and lemon soups were light, refreshing, and delicious. Thought it was a new genre of restaurant, more like entertainment than a restaurant. Very interesting. Today was the third time eating here, but I was disappointed because felt the service was not as good as the last time. I ordered kung-fu noodle and waited about twenty minutes but it didn’t come, and when I told the staff that other customers had been served those noodles, the staff just said, "They will be here soon," and eventually cancelled the order because there was no sign of...

Came here to celebrate my birthday with my friends and it was such an amazing experience! The waiter, Jeff and the waitress (sorry I didn’t get your name!) who served us today was too nice, we felt like royalty! Food was good and we ate till we were so bloated! Got to try the many sauces available and had desserts to go with it too! They gave us a complimentary fruit platter as well and offered us tea after our meal as well.
