After a forest trek around Aokigahara, I stopped here for lunch — a cozy soba restaurant located inside Saiko Iyashi no Sato Nenba. The interior is simple and warm, with wooden furniture, soft lighting, and that quiet countryside calm that immediately slows you down.
I had the Kamonan Soba (鴨南そば) — handmade soba noodles served in a hot broth with slices of duck and green onions. The broth was rich and aromatic, with a deep, comforting flavor that perfectly matched the cool, misty weather outside. The duck was tender, slightly smoky, and beautifully balanced by the sweetness of the leeks.

I was having lunch with my boyfriend here, and we (stupid) forgot to bring enough cash to pay. Unfortunately there are no ATM's nearby, so he wanted to take the bike to the nearest ATM in the village. The lady said it was ok for us to leave, without paying. We didn't want to leave without paying, even though she really insisted on it. My boyfriend took the bike, I waited outside. It started to rain and she pulled me inside with warm tea, grape juice, miso soup, chocolates and comfort. She is a blessing and I would recommend everyone to have the best, fresh noodles when visiting the open...

Recommended to give it a try if you're there. I was there on Friday, was told that the opening hours were 1pm - 4pm. But there were guests leaving when we arrived at 1pm. Maybe for the tour group.
