We decided to head to Lake Saiko (Saiko Nenbahama) after admiring Mt. Fuji from Lake Kawaguchiko, hoping to catch a glimpse of the iconic mountain from a different angle. And we're so glad we did! The view was distinctly beautiful and peaceful, with fewer crowds compared to Kawaguchiko. As the clouds cleared, we were treated to a stunning, unobstructed view of Mt. Fuji at around 6 pm - the perfect lighting made it a truly unforgettable experience. While the park is a bit of a distance away, it's well worth the trip for the serene atmosphere and breathtaking views.

A stunning spot to see Mt Fuji from and enjoy the Saiko lake as well as nearby traditional village. We hiked through the forest to visit the various caves and woods surrounding the area - these were all well sign posted and felt safe. The location is also close to the local bus. There are public toilets which are kept clean and tidy.

A well maintained heritage village nearby Saiko Lake. Each house has its own uniqueness offering based on the Nenba cultural heritage village lifestyle. A 10 minute stroll can take one to the picturesque Saiko Lake which on a clear day can see the reflection of the majestic Mount Fuji on the lake's surface.
