Eataly — Restaurant in Fujisawa

My wife and I both ordered the lunch set. I had the pasta (pappardelle) with ragú sauce and she had the pomodoro spaghetti. Both dishes were excellent and could be proudly served in any good restaurant in Italy.

We also enjoyed the antipasto that included a variety of bite size pieces including Parmesan cheese, mortadella, and vegetables.

The lunch set also included a good-sized portion of delicious tiramisu and a flavorful cup of expresso to complete the meal.

Although there was no wait for our Sunday lunch, the restaurant was busy and the in-house music along with the sound of conversations was a bit loud for me. Being slightly hard of hearing, I had a difficult time hearing what the waitress was saying when we ordered.

Despite being slightly noisy, the service was excellent with good teamwork among the staff. We interacted with five different staff members and all were friendly, courteous, and professional. Two different staff members came by and refilled our water cups without having to ask.

The cost is a little higher than the average Italian restaurant in Japan but so is the quality and...

The food here is really over priced and sub par. They use low quality ingredients and charge premium prices. Ordered burrata and it’s like supermarket level quality (costs ¥2800).

The pastas and pizzas are acceptable, but there’s much better stuff around.

Staff barely pay you any attention, forget orders, don’t clean tables, don’t check in for drinks…

高すぎるのに味は平凡

子供と一緒に行きましたが、これまでで一番値段が不釣り合いなイタリアンでした。東京で長年、素晴らしいイタリアンを食べてきましたが、ここは味と値段がまったく合っていません。

息子は世界中で本場のピザを食べてきましたが、一口食べて「美味しくない」と言いました。娘は5種類チーズのピザを注文しましたが、一口食べて文句を言い、そのまま食べませんでした。結局私が夕食として食べましたが、せいぜい「まあまあ」程度。

パスタも同様に平凡で、単にレシピが“違う気がする”のではなく、実際に本来のレシピとは違っていました。惜しいところまでは来ていましたが、最後までやりきれておらず、結果は中途半端。安ければまだ許せますが、この値段では完全に失格です。

スタッフは親切で、立地も悪くはありませんが、料理の内容は値段に見合わず、行く価値はありません。

Overpriced and Not Worth It

I went here with my kids today. Easily the most overpriced Italian restaurant I’ve been to. I’ve eaten at excellent Italian restaurants in Tokyo for many years, and the prices here were way out of line with the quality.

My son, who knows pizza well from eating it all over the world, took one bite and said, “this isn’t good.” My daughter ordered a five-cheese pizza. She complained after one bite and refused to eat it, so I got stuck finishing it for dinner. It was just okay at best.

The pasta was also just so-so. And it wasn’t simply that it felt wrong — it was not the right recipe. They got close, but didn’t follow through, so the result was mediocre. If the prices had been cheaper, it might have been acceptable, but at these prices, the food simply fails.
