Kurumaya — Restaurant in Fujisawa

OMG! This place has it all! Food is fantastic, service is ridiculous, and the dining room and view of their garden is awe inducing. Seasons change their course menu and brings tears to my eyes. Fish, vegetables, meat… each course brings out the flavors and textures of the seasonal ingredients. As a Japanese, I would sat, “berry berry derisious!!!” Just look at the pictures and the photos in the other reviews. Service was impeccable. I would think of something and there seemed to be a video camera on me just to observe my reactions to the beautiful and derisious food. Someone would appear at my side or they would bring out whatever I was thinking about if it was obvious to them. The entire staff were dressed in kimonos or suits and spotless. Very uniformed and professional. The dining room, the view, the lobby, the restroom and even the parking lot outside! Everything seemed manicured. The parking lot outside reminded me of the scene in “The Last Samurai” that stared Tom Cruise and Ken Watanabe where Watanabe’s character succumbs to his injuries while looking at the distance cherry blossoms, “perfect…” Kurumaya asks you if you need a bus ride from Tsujido JR station to the restaurant. Kurumaya will schedule a bus to pick you up at their specific bus stop. Talk about service. Let Kurumaya know with your reservation and they pick you up at the station! I would go again and again! OUTSTANDING in every way. From the gracious welcome to the sincere farewell, the dining experience at this restaurant is magnificent. The attention to detail, comfort and enjoyment is seriously impressive. The food is just divine: we had an array of bite size starters that just melted in your mouth with a heavenly blend of flavours and textures. The Teppanyaki prepared in front of our eyes - entertainment at its best - served the most tender, delicious waygu I've ever eaten along with vegetables perfectly al dente and garlic rice that was divine. 鉄板焼きもですが、いつ行っても間違いのない料理、サービス、環境、価格、和食といえば絶対に「車屋」と決めており、家族や友達との気楽ランチ以外にも、安心してお客様を招待したり、何かの集まりの場所にしたり新宿店を含め30年以上親しんできました。しかし何もかも値上げのご時世、車屋さんも値上げ、ランチでも7000円以上、気楽にというわけにはいかなくなりました。加えて料理長が変わったこと、他店の努力もあり他を利用するようになったことで、少々足が遠のいていましたが、今回は電子マネーで割引が受けられるというので、久しぶりに行ってみましょうと予約をとりました。前日の確認電話(なぜか？前日食事に行った友人には確認の電話がなかったそう)があり、その時点で予約したコースは現金払いのみだと知らされました。今回は元々電子マネーの割引でを目的にしていましたから、2-3質問させていただきましたが、スタッフの対応は不親切で、まるで割引で食事するのが悪いかと感じられるような対応、とても気分が悪くなりました。食事は美味しくいただいていましたが、今回今までの車屋さんには信じられないような一部料理に落ち度がありました。家族だけの気楽なランチでしたし、その後の対応がこちらが恐縮してしまうくらい丁寧な対応をしてくださったので不満なく帰ることができました。ただカウンターでの支払い時、電子マネーの支払いをどう思われているのかという気持ちがよぎりました。 また、食事中に後ろの方の声が聞こえてきたのですが、食後のお茶を注文する際お客が「紅茶は何ですか？」と質問すると「何ですかって〜普通の紅茶ですが」との対応(この言い方も、お客の方がおかしいことを言っているかのような口調)、心中「どう考えても茶葉の種類を聞きたいに決まってるでしょう」と家族と苦笑してしまいました。「そうではなくてダージリンとか｡｡｡」と返すと「そうですダージリンです」と回答。こうして贔屓だったお客を逃していくのだなぁ〜と残念に思いました。 コロナ禍で伺った際には、食事の説明を顔間近でされドキドキしたこともありましたし、最近の諸々スタッフの教育はどうなっているのでしょう？と思わざるを得ません。全てにおいて安心して利用できる、コストパフォーマンスのよかった車屋さんに戻って...
