My House — Restaurant in Ginowan

Just down the hill from MCAS Futenma's main gate is a small restaurant known as "My House". The restaurant is small and simple counter service restaurant with picnic tables and a counter inside to eat once your order has been served. There is parking, although limited, and outdoor tables.

The food is ok and the price is cheap. The location is perfect for those who are at the base and looking for something to eat without having to pay for a cab. Staff is friendly enough and quick.

Although convenient for those in the immediate area this is not one of the places to go out of your way and visit. If you are in the area, however, and looking for a hot meal cheap with a place to sit down and eat you might want to give this...

I came to okinawa back in 1990 and fell in love with this restaurant when i was in the military. I've since traveled extensively and relocated to the States, but when I go to visit okinawa, I always make this restaurant a must visit stop before I leave. If i had only 1 place i could visit in a day trip, it would be here. I always get the tacos and the teriyaki chicken rice. The taste has been consistent throughout the last 30+ years. Worst steak I have ever had in my life. No sear on the steak, I asked for medium and got a rare steak. When I got the steak it was literally bleeding. Puddle of blood on top. It was like a microwaved steak. Now I’m not sure about other foods on the menu, they may or may not be good. But the steak was just terrible. The restaurant is also very hot, but it’s Okinawa so it’s understandable I guess. And what I thought was weird was the salt and white pepper is not labeled. It says “spice B” for salt and “spice D” for white pepper. I don’t understand why they don’t label it like how they label their steak sauce and western...
