My friends and I found Kinkonkan during our road trip after visiting Shirakawa. We were in that lunch period where many other restaurants were already closed, but saw that Kinkonkan was still open nearby and hungrily drove over.
The decor outside and inside featured a lot of animal figures, creating something of a dreamy fairy tale setting for the restaurant (including the restroom as pictured LOL). This was in juxtaposition to the fish decor that also adorned the walls of the restaurant inside.
