My friends and I found Kinkonkan during our road trip after visiting Shirakawa. We were in that lunch period where many other restaurants were already closed, but saw that Kinkonkan was still open nearby and hungrily drove over.

The decor outside and inside featured a lot of animal figures, creating something of a dreamy fairy tale setting for the restaurant (including the restroom as pictured LOL). This was in juxtaposition to the fish decor that also adorned the walls of the restaurant inside.

We arrived to an empty restaurant and were seated promptly by who I assume was the owner. I had the karaage and the Hamburg steak, and they were both delicious. Me and my friends definitely enjoyed our stop at Kinkonkan before resuming our...

The price was very affordable, great variety, portions were very big. Ordered 5 meals but total bill was 7000 yen. Although waitress could not really speak english, she was extremely helpful and accommodating. Order sashimi platter which was very fresh, katsudon, hamburg steak, vegetable tempura, nigatoro don. Free parking available....

The food is delicious! Went back there twice. Beef don was amazing! Sashimi and katsu pork were also very tasty. The owner and the server were so kind.

The atmosphere is very grandma house vibes - artificial flowers over done and outdated...

Nous avons payés moins de 1000 yens chacun et nous étions remplis! Les plats principaux étaient supers bons et les accompagnements aussi, vous avez même le dessert.
