Kura Sushi — Restaurant in Himeji

For two persons, we ate through 15 plates of sushi and sides but the bill only came up to 1875 JPY including tax! We went to another sushi chain the other day ordering roughly the same amount and the bill was almost 4000 JPY.

Everything on the belt is 115 yen each, there is an English menu on the iPad and you can order some sides and soups for about 150-250 yen. The sides ordered via the iPad would come on a separate bullet train belt to you.

Was blown away by the grated yam Mentaiko sushi as the savoury taste of Mentaiko untainted by mayonnaise was just mindblowingly good! There were lots of choices for a cooked food lover such as myself, special mention to the sukiyaki beef and torched pork sushi. The fatty bits of the meats were well marinated and had no gamey flavour. The pork fat came with a crunchy, well barbequed bite.

The bracken starch matcha dessert was so sweet but really hit the spot. The bracken starch wrapping was thin and gives a nice clean bite without being overly sticky. The matcha bean paste was so fine and heavenly!

My only gripe is that there is not enough vegetable options, except for the broccoli salad.
